im not all that great at writing in spanish but i did read all the comments including the ones in Spanish....Siouxsie experienced lots of issues with problems with vocal chords, surgeries, sinus infections that required surgery and multiple times and this along with smoking really took a toll on her voice...she is the greatest of all time...she is a true Diva before they threw that word all over the place..a true original....different from the rest...a true visionary and i miss her so much....i was lucky enough to see her live so many times in the 80s 90s and even on the 00s solo. The creatures were also fantastic just different from The Banshees. Siouxsie wasnt being disrespectful here....this is how her voice sounded from the Peepshow tour on....she couldnt help it.
@EmilieSagae4 жыл бұрын
Ok I agree with your sentiments completely, but I disagree about her voice being like this from the Peepshow tour onwards. Some of the Superstition era shows are her absolute vocal peak in my opinion. She chose to sing the new material in a different way at that time, but she could still sing all their classic songs very close to the original. From 1993 her voice quality started to change, but only in mid-95 did she actually decline and lose most of her range. The Rapture album was recorded with very little studio trickery (unlike Superstition), and Siouxsie sounded very close to the recordings in early shows promoting it... It was in the middle of the tour that her voice really took a turn for the worse.

@@EmilieSagae thanks for your insight! I was watching a Superstition era concert on youtube and she still sounded amazing.
@leethomas2552 жыл бұрын
@@EmilieSagae I agree, but her voice was damaged even before the Superstition 1993 era. Listening since 1985, i'd say that her voice was damaged back in 1989. Few people know that before Juju in 1983, she was forced to take 4 months out on medical advice and rest her voice completeley, so by 1989 with heavy smoking, the damage was irreversible, but she's still a magnificent stage woman and performer
@That-Kevin9 ай бұрын
Listen, I went on the entire seven year itch tour with Siouxsie. Her voice changed dramatically from place to place. And I can tell you the performance that was recorded, for the DVD was worst second only to her lollapalooza performance. She was incredible in New York and San Francisco. She was really amazing in Chicago as well, but she beat up a security officer and never came back stage where we were waiting.

I thought he was very poor on the whole to be honest - easily the weakest of their guitarists (McGeoch is No. 1 by quite a margin). This guy _really_ butchered Israel which is one of the easier McGeoch songs to play and Spellbound was pretty bad as well.

This was indeed a mixed bag concert. I too attended this concert at El Auditorio Nacional and, as can be appreciated, her singing was off and the sound was really bad. However, a few years later, I had the opportunity to see Siuoxie and Budgie performing as The Creatures, along with John Cale and others, at El Rey Theater in Albuquerque NM. That was much, much better. An amazing concert in fact, as a small, intimate venue and good music and good performances all around made it just unforgettable. I don’t want to make excuses for anyone, but around this time, also in MXC, I saw Cranes live. And Allison Shaw’s voice also suffered noticeably during the gig. However, I also saw Cranes live in Monterrey NL when they opened for The Cure in 1992, with no problems whatsoever. So I am guessing the pollution in MXC may have something to do with some of the problems these singers experienced? That said, Siuoxie is clearly singing off key AND off beat during some of the songs in this concert, most egregiously during Kiss Them For Me, where it is really cringeworthy.

Estuvo espantoso.
