I never used to like Siouxsie. But in recent years, I have begun to really dig her. She is an original, not afraid to be different and very intelligent.

I liked Siouxsie from day one, I thought it was an original way to spell Susie (her real name is Susan Ballion), when I heard Siouxsie And The Banshees' first session on John Peel I was like "Yes, this is my kinda stuff". She wasn't really punk, she started a new genre called indie, followed many years later by The Jesus and Mary Chain, The Stone Roses, The Cult, Oasis and Dinosaur Jr., the latter bands might not have formed if not for Siouxise, the Princess of Darkness.

I got to see them play live once (with John Cooper Clarke as support) in the early 80s. The Staircase (Mystery) was one of the first four singles I bought; dark and horror-themed,and when put on a stereo system back then,the guitar sound on it seemed to fly round the room.

This is an underated classic. And I notice it uses the same 'through the woods' video technique as 'Spellbound'

Great tribute to the master Bob Dylan, truly a magnificent version. The album of covers Through the Looking Glass is really very good, now I'll listen to it again, I haven't done it for a long time.

@@PrimitiveInTheExtremeI still think the Bob Dylan & the Band version from the Basement Tapes and the Julie Driscoll,Brian Auger & the Trinity versions,very different from one another in the backing music arrangement and instrumentation,are the best two versions! For a few years I thought the Julie Driscoll version was the original,too,having first heard it as a small child.

This version - which I hadn't heard since the late 80s - has grown on me a lot more with playing it again on here several times lately while revisiting the area. Their next single after this was a cover of Iggy Pop's The Passenger if my memory serves me well.

Im from australia i always thought ausie band flake did the original of this i kept asking for it but these two artists kept coming up a guy and a girl from the 60s i found out they were the original and bob dylan wrote o It i said to my brother thats not the version i have in my head eventually after a lot of mucking about on google i found out the version i new was by ausie band flake i cant think of the guy and woman who did the original but for any one who dose not know of flake there version in my opinion puts the original to shame flake were a great band they also did a cover of reflections of my life which again i think is better than the other version cant think of that group now either for any one who dose not flake they are well worth a listen i cant recall the lead vocalists name right now she has a great voice as far as i go siouxsies version pees all over the original to sydney australia 21 nov 2022

There was a real drummers they weren't numrous ,xtc ,stranglers ,others bored us with drums machines!!!! Rather prefer Augie and Driscoll 's one 1968!
