I am a first time dip powder user. I followed your tutorials for applying the dip and it was so easy. I dreaded the removal process but I followed your method here. I cut the corner off an old kitchen towel and used it instead of a cotton ball. It took 5 minutes each hand to remove the dip powder. 5 minutes! I’ve never had polish come off so fast and clean. My nails and cuticles look awesome, not dry at all. Thank you!

The heat is the biggest part of fast dip nail color removal. Instead of water, I have been using rice in the bowl. Heat it for about 45 seconds. Same as SipandDip for the rest of the process, containing the acetone and cotton ball in the zip lock bag. I find one cotton ball is not enough. I use 5 cotton squares for more surface to remove the color. Great video. It confirms I've been doing it right to remove my nail color. I'm definitely adding the coconut oil!

This really proves that you can teach an old dog new tricks. I’ve been doing nails for 30 years and I’ve never seen this method of soak off. Bravo my friend. I’m most shocked at that the zip lock bag didn’t melt from the acetone. I love love that I can still learn something new even with a non professional nail tech, girl you should seriously go to school and get your license because you’re a natural ! Kudos to you !

Absolutely love the responses in the comment section from professionals! I used to have acrylics done in the 90's. I was a nail biter so I needed them! However I hated the way they destroyed my nails. I love all these comments on your methods, because it gives me more comfort in saving my nails if I decide to do this (which I obviously am considering it because I'm watching this video😅😅 with a nail kit in front of me lol). Definitely excited to try some new things. Thanks!❤

I love this technique. I used to do the foils cause that’s what my salon did and I hated it, took FOREVER and a day to remove dip. Then I switched to those clips which were a nightmare, they would pinch my nails and they would crack at the sidewalls. That always made my manis look terrible. And this method is literally 10x faster than the other crappy methods lol

Great idea Maria!! I will try the dryer sheet next time. I used a paper towel, and it took a while, but the coconut oil really helps with hydration. I also put the baggie on a microwavable rice filled hair cap (made for deep conditioning treatments) so that it stayed warm, but I may do the hot water bowl on the rice cap too.👍

This method works amazingly!!! I recommend everyone try this. I have done it twice now and it took me about 7 minutes per hand! The coconut oil works really well!! I toss in 3 cotton balls and I have the water as hot as my hands can stand because I don’t have a microwave. But when I did I it at my friends house 45 seconds was too hot. So, I was dreading soaking off my dip nails,but they needed it. I was fairly skeptical if this process but thought I would give it a try. Well, it is the real deal. I used the sponge suggested by another commenter and it was literally off in minutes. I did not have coconut oil but since this worked so well I will definitely get some for next time. Thank you for this video! Game changing

Ohhhhhh my goodness. I am just starting with dip nails and removal has been a nightmare. I was ready to give up on dip powder, because I am really trying to find something that is not complicated and too time consuming. I had just spent close to 2 hours trying to get my dip powder off, messing with those clip-ons, dipping my nails in acetone and still did not get it all off! Then I came across your video! 10 minutes later my nails where completely clean! Thank you.

Revisiting this because the last time I did this it took 2 hours! Using the same remover, actually burned my fingers. The only thing I can think is I'm not filing enough of the top coat. I use the same makart files. But I do benefit from reviewing past videos. Thanks for all you have done! I have come so far watching ypur videos.

This is a great idea for people who don't use peel base. I personally have never applied dip on my nails. It took a few years for me to be comfortable with clear gel LOL. I am still chicken shyt about colored gels with no peel base. back when I soaked off I would put a crap ton of ( i forget the name) clear "cream" Aqua something or Norwegian something all over my nails and used the tinfoil with the pads attached to do it and a heating pad

You forgot to mention that if it’s taking longer to remove,the bag could possibly have a tiny hole in it. Also some can’t use coconut oil,I’m one of them, it reeks havoc with my skin and dries it out. I use either olive oil,jojoba oil or sweet almond oil. Actually I just made a mix of a few of them and added a couple more that are skin loving. Great video. I love watching.

I have used polish remover and warm water for Color Street nails before, will most certainly have to try it on my next set of nails! I'm on week 2 of no dip because my nails were feeling thin after using a gel remover. Have used several combinations of nail strengthener and finally had to put the CS on to keep them from ripping again. You are so right about it being almost mandatory to cut them short while they heal, I can't wait to get the dip powder back on so I don't have to hide my hands in public.

Follow up questions: 1. You said use 100% acetone, but yours had additives in it. (Grapeseed oil and the other, was it vitamin E?) Does that mean it's not 100% acetone? 2. If we don't want to wait the hour after removal to put on a new set, would it make more sense to not include the coconut oil in the acetone baggy? Just seems like a bit of a waste if I'd have to dehydrate my nails immediately before putting on a new dip application, after making sure to have the oil to prevent the acetone from dehydrating the nails. Thanks!
@SipAndDip
@SipAndDip Жыл бұрын
Great questions 🫶🏻 1. It is still 100% pure acetone but also includes those additives to keep your skin/nails more hydrated 2. You can absolutely omit the extra coconut oil! Totally personal preference! If you opt to use the oil still (for your skin) you can also double dehydrate your natural nails during prep to make sure there isn’t any residue. Again, totally up to you!
