Yes, what did you use to clean the tarnish off the brass?

he used a dilution of a mineral acid, probably sulfamic acid (main ingredient in the brand "Tarn X"). it only reacts with oxidized metal. There are many acids that can do this.

The demonstration was certainly planned, but the problem was in the seal of the cock of the newly purchased bottle (it was leaking). I thought that the valve could be unscrewed and the gasket replaced, but unfortunately everything was pressed in there.

Brilliant restoration Radek and Veronica, you even managed to get a soda syphon of the same make, well done my friends. My father had a British equivalent in his drinks cupboard in the 1960s, he didn't refill it himself however. When it was empty he took it back to the shop that sold beer, wines and spirits, handed in the empty syphon and paid for a full one. I don't remember him ever drinking anything with soda water in! I enjoyed your video, especially the clip with the syphon on your laptop, very clever trick. Best wishes to you Radek and your lovely wife Veronica.

WOW, excellent job in the 1970's and 80s. I worked for Havana Dry Soda Co located at 1069 Home St Bronx, NY 10459, filling the seltzer bottles on the seltzer machine. It was one of the best jobs I had in my late teens. Thank you for the memories.

Děkuji za komentář. Ono plnění bylo původně v plánu, ale netušil jsem, že bude propouštět ventil nově zakoupené láhve. Těsnění jsem chtěl vyměnit, ale bylo vše zalisováno a novou láhev za 2,5 tis se mi kupovat už nechtělo.

Look at you getting all fancy and breaking out the Star Wars laser to cut out that gasket! I was wondering how you were going to get any pressure buildup inside that cylinder with the opening at the top. I thought there was going to be a gasket that was going to Seal the 2 halves when they came together. Then came the plot twist where a piece was missing! This of course was solved by the master restorer himself! As always, a pleasure to watch and learn!

Krásná práce! Takový exemplář se určitě moc nevidí. Dovolím si nesouhlasit, bombičky se pořád vyrábějí i ty staré se šroubovaným uzávěrem, byly znovu naplnitelné. Navíc se prodávají o něco větší jednorázové. Ale ne do "sifonu", to je fakt. A pak větší a velké. Jen tak na okraj ty znovu plnitelné sifonové a dneska i ty jednorázové se používají do vzduchových zbraní na CO2. Tenkrát je vyráběli u nás v Brně, jmenovalo se to TAU a pořadové číslo modelu, dneska jsou různé jiné a dělá je kde kdo.😉 Díky za video, zase jsem se mohl kochat.

Dobrý den Zdeňku, ano bombičky se stále dají koupit, sice ne tak běžně jako dřív, ale některé obchody je stále nabízí . Klasické kovové s mosazným vrškem by tam nešli, mají malí otvor, ale jednorázové ano. U nás zrovna v době, kdy jsem dělal video, nikde nebyly, tak jsem si je objednal přes eshop, ale stejně je nepoužil. Jakmile mě přišla koupená láhev, tak jsem ji zkusil přifouknout kompresorem a je v ní problém s těsněním v kohoutku - netěsní. Myslel jsem, že půjde rozdělat jako jdou ty neopletené láhve, ale ne, všechno je za lisováno. V komentáři to bylo myšleno, že v té době.

I recommend you invest in straw cleaning brushes for the inside of springs, small openings and the inside of small pipes, etc. I think it will make your excellent restorations much easier. Look for them where you get reusable straws.

A suitable welding material for welding an old baking dish is usually a filler material of the same or very similar chemical composition to the base material of the baking dish A steel welding electrode is often used for welding iron pans, it is also possible to use a wire or a filled electrode with a similar composition to the base material.

Díky Honzo. Vnitřní láhev je skleněná jen je umístěná v kovové kleci . Princip plnění je naprosto stejný jako u novodobých sifonů. V levé části se dá bombička CO2, pravá horní páčka se zmáčkne spolu s páčkou láhve a zároveň se aktivuje bombička. Páčka se zvedne a v láhvi zůstane CO2. U mě je problém v těsnosti ventilu kohoutku láhve, který se nedá rozebrat, je zalisován, proto jsem neudělal ukázku.
