Fun Fact: Y'all remember the scene when Coraline first got to the other world and the Beldam gave her a cake? The words, "Welcome Home" were written on the cake. I wonder what The Other Mother's backstory is. I'd like to guess that all she ever wanted in life was to become a mother, but had her chances denied somehow. Or maybe she did successfully have children of her own but they ended up falling prey to some 'child predator'- and then committed suicide due to never getting over the trauma. And thus, the beldam became the very thing she swore to destroy.
