Sir Cliff Richard on Rise Up, the BBC privacy case & more

Sir Cliff Richard talks to 5 live’s Nihal Arthanayake about his first album of new music since 2004 - Rise Up. It’s his 104th album, and the first time he’s recorded new music since he won a privacy case against the BBC. The broadcaster apologised and was ordered to pay damages after it ran extensive coverage of a police raid on his home. Police were investigating an historic child sex allegation. Sir Cliff was never arrested or charged.

It was a fanstastic interview, Cliff does these interviews so beautiful. He does them if he was the compere instead of the person being interviewed. Sir Cliff is so relaxed & talks so clearly with out showing any nerves, what so ever. He is the only person I know that, that can talk on camera. He is really a great guy that has been through so much, yet has come out on top of the world. With his music & his singing, he really is a fanstastic person. A real super entertainer.

Cliff suffered terribly. It may fade but it will never go away he says. I feel for the guy. Even if he had of been arrested & charged he still would have been innocent until proven guilty. I wonder how many men, have had their lives ruined by ugly allegations.
