WEEKEND WOGAN 10th ANNIVERSARY SERIES - Show 16/35
11.04am, live on BBC Radio 2 on Sunday, 4 July 2010… the great Stevie Wonder classic, 'Sir Duke'.
This show just happened to fall on my Dad’s 70th birthday and so, with him and my whole family in the audience there to celebrate the big day, my song choices were all dedicated to him and chosen especially because I knew he loved them.
The opener of the show, my first of three performances this week, was the ever popular and adored 'Sir Duke’ from Stevie Wonder’s stupendously awesome album, ‘Songs In The Key Of Life’; a song that reminds me of the brown Bush portable radio sat on the window sill in the kitchen in the late ‘70s blasting hits all weekend long as Dad and Mum would sing and dance along while cooking. Happy Days indeed. ❤️
