@@TomLeach-dd8cl He doesn’t seem to have too much coming through at present and I was surprised that Bravemans game was actually well backed as to me the horse seems to have no finish in him anymore whereas you look at “The real whacker” and he still stays despite being 25-1 and he finished 4th. Nichols was winning everything a couple of years back but you’re correct he really seems to be struggling at present which is a shame although some smaller yards and trainers seem to be doing well so hopefully the British can compete with the great Willie Mullins for a few more years at least.

Be careful when weighing up the form of this race. It was a very impressive performance by Sir Gino and it took a good performance to defeat Ballyburn so well. Just a note of caution in that yesterday Lossiemouth did disappoint with not being able to keep up the pace with the other runners and secondly Willie Mullins ran 31 horses and the only horse to win has two horses in front of it which fell at the final flight. With the odd second and third and fourth place it's clear that the horses may be under performing. It could well be ground conditions which are also a factor as there wouldn't be any watering taking place with heavy dews at this time of year. No disrespect to Sir Gino but Im not sure we are seeing the Closutton horses at their best.

The best of horses are in England !! I know they were very very keen to get Sir Gino over fences for a obvious reason. Between him and Constitution Hill they will dominate both Hurdles and Chases. Two phenomenal horses going toe to toe. Ballyburn loses nothing in defeat and has shown he is perhaps a staying chaser, and an extremely exciting one. Perhaps a good exercise for Mullins as he now knows for certain the road Ballyburn will take imo. Sir gino looks a star and only 4 years old.

Now you can see he was working with a horse who doesn’t like being headed. I think it could go either way those two to be fair. SG is much younger he’s probably the only horse around with a chance against CH. Like you I think it was a masterstroke by Nicky switching him to fences.
