Important piece of kiwi history. I take time to watch this every year with my grandparents, and we treat it like it's the first and last time we heard it. Love seeing the memories these songs bring back for me and my folks.

I have great admiration for The Howard Morrison Quartet. They visited the Sanitarium many of us were in because we had Tuberculosis in the late 1950s. And they sung for us.

Strong loving whanau, culture and art brings unity and peace where politics, power and money never can. How great thou art. God defend New Zealand. For every race and creed. Arohanui. Faafetai Howie, Gerry and families that build peace for their nation. I will always love New Zealand and that promise of Whanau and peace. Fitting finale by the Matriach who founds it all. Grandparents. Position of God. They know all.

I can never forget when they came to Balclutha in the very early 60s. It was the first live performance I attended. Howard Morrison stopped in the middle of one of his top notes to ask a girl in the audience who had just had all of her teeth taken out and was smiling widely at him " Where are all your teeth love?" She stopped the show for a while by her answer " Shut up you cheeky bugger" and the whole group just stopped with uncontrolled laughter and the musicians tried to continue playing. I still have their first LP.
