I've played the clarinet, and I just picked up a Hall crystal flute and this has really given me the firm base I needed to learn proper embourchure for this type of instrument. I'm currently driving my husband and cats crazy with flutey honking, lol I've missed playing an instrument so much!

Why can i only do this if I put my right hand over the end of the headjoint? 🤔 It doesn't work if I take it away. (Hey I just did it 😱😁)

Thank YOU! I'm an "old dog" learning a new trick (the Dizi bamboo flute). Unfortunately living in the middle of the USA makes it impossible to find a teacher. I have one contact, but he lives in Shanghai . . .16 hours time dif. This has really been helping me find that sweet spot.

There are hundreds of people giving online lesson nowadays, for example over Skype or Zoom. Just Google! Thanks to the internet, you can study with a flute teacher in the middle of Antarctica if you wanted to. No need to be limited by your location!
