Sir Keir Starmer lays out Labour's plan for tackling illegal immigration

Sir Keir Starmer has said he has no doubt the government will get flights off the ground to Rwanda but Labour would "cancel the scheme straight away" if they win the next general election.
The Labour leader, announcing his party's policy on illegal immigration in Dover, said the government's flagship policy of sending asylum seekers to Rwanda will not work.
"They will get flights off the ground, I don't doubt that but I also don't doubt it will not work," he said

It isn't just spin though, one of the very real measures that is planned is to expand counter-terror to actually be able to deal with the gangs directly, this is a sensible approach as they could face a military response for essentially undermining British National Security. I think the risk of imprisonment or death to the people smugglers is ultimately a more credible deterrent then some silly overpriced PR flights to a nation which people will just flee the first chance they get and start the problem all over again.
