Having worked for the NHS FOR 35 years plus, i saw many reorganisations. The only time i saw any change was when Blair was in. Things did improve in my hospital, but he did it on the back of PFI which crippled the NHS for years and even now financially. Reorganisations don’t benefit clinical staff or patients only managers who are usually incompetent and out for theirselves. The ethos of Medicine and Nursing is long gone, Nursing ruined by Universities and medicine by greed. Its a busted flush and personally being one of its greatest advocates over the years it needs privatising and run for the good of the patient. Just one service, Cataracts, do it like other countries hive it off so it is done efficiently. Etc etc

Agree I did my training in a hospital where matrons and ward sisters ran the place with an iron rod but every patient got good care and hospitals were clean not much infection. Now managers sitting in offices many with no medical training big paychecks and it would be better to go back to the old system. Nurses learn on the job not in university and local people took pride in their work domestics porters etc Then Bliar turned to private companies so much worse
