He came to Todmorden and performed in a marquee after the Agricultural show. He was fantastic. When I went outside the marquee with my cousin i tripped on the path kerb. Who was there to pick me up but Doddy. He took me back to his caravan where his partner put ice on my ankle. How many celebrities would have done that. I was very upset that his funeral wasn,t televised like Cilla Black,s was. It might have been on the granada tv but I live in Yorkshire and they didnt . I,ve been in the thatre at 1 in the morning many times. You certainly got your moneys worth. R.I.P Ken.

I worked at tameside hippodrome on the stage crew and one of us had to go and get the big fur coat he had on stage it was my turn this particular night he wouldnt let me come off the stage he kept calling me back and the stage crew were calling me to come off the stage he gave me a fiver when he was leaving saying id made him laugh R I P DODDY
