So happy to have found this!! As a professor at UC, who embraced Sir Ken Robinson's perspective on education, and a '88 Miami Architecture grad, I applaud the Class of 2016 for their graduation and superb speaker!

a great evangelist with a interesting ideas, but not really new. schools, all schools faster creative thinking but not for direct technology. That preparation for direct professional application. Public education set the scene for advanced learning - a foundation which is just as necessary as it has been. Creative thinking is dependent on words (lots of words) and language. Creative thinking depends greatly upon clear communication and the integration of ideas with others. No one creates in a vacuum by themselves. The importance of language depends on lots of languages: i.e. the language of chemistry, biology, mathematics earth science, even the language of dance, color, social integration, etc. Doing school on your own, alone negate the essential values of human interaction. Television schools pass on information but are insufferably bad at helping individual relate. The assertion by the very articulate lecturer that schools (I suppose public schools) are stifling creativity, completely misses the fact that education isn't what is revealed by its testing or even test scores. It is the teacher in interaction with a student. This relations is as different and varied as the day the teacher and interchange will be.

Blah blah. Stop talking. Listen to him. Your 8th word is "but" and you try to make your own point. Ridiculous.
