All adulation of this man aside it is interesting that in all the talks I’ve heard him give there has never been the slightest mention of “curiosity”. Lots on creativity and imagination but nothing on curiosity. How curious because both creativity and imagination would be sorry qualities indeed without curiosity! And a new normal can only happen when we get really curious about what happened to “normal”.

The greatest teacher I never had! This man had an impact on thousands of people from all walks of life and each corner of the globe. I wish the government appointed Sir Robinson as the countries head of educational affairs, at least the future generations to come would be a product of his bountiful conception in an integral fundamental aspect of a human being: EDUCATION. One thing for sure is I would've been the first one to that class, had Sir Ken Robinson been my teacher during a crucial phase of my developing years (like every other human being). Your legacy will reverberate until the end of times!

A special, special man and mentor for me personally as a career educator. His legacy lives on. I’m amazed there is not more attention to this gem he left for us as one of his final gifts to humanity. Pay it forward. I have not heard a better or more concise synopsis of the most important existential issues we face that MUST be confronted with more conviction if our children and future generations are to thrive. Let alone survive. One love good people. RIP, dear Sir Ken. You are not forgotten.

This video has 26,365 views at this time. It should at least be 263 million views, and climb from there. I've listened to everything this man has posted (I believe anyway)... and he made a statement that I use to make back in college (>40 years ago)... and I state it in general, the world will be o.k. But mankind may not be. Even the loss of beautiful creatures due to our own neglect will be renewed with new creatures that have not been here before. We want to be stewards, but we are not. We are smart enough (I hope), but we don't do what's right. So yes, Sir Robinson, we need to leave our children learn, on their own, with support - and schools need to change, to allow innovation and not following rote principles... and maybe we can pull out of this nose dive. We need to do this quickly with all of the 'industrialized countries" moving as fast as they can, and then move on from there. Meanwhile, I will miss you. I'm sure there are millions upon millions that will, but I found your voice so comforting, and your humor enlightening, and your call to focus attention the underlying problems so inspiring... I hope we can find someone to fill your shoes, and soon. No one will be like you, but that's o.k. - we still need to evolve.

Such an inspirational guy. I'm sure he encouraged many people to discover their hidden talents, which in turn enriched their lives. Happiness is all about your state of mind and often that is at its most relaxed when we're enjoying the simplest of things in life. It's all about discovering those things we enjoy that's the key to happiness and they're generally not the things we think they are. Losing Ken was so sad and such a great loss but thankfully we still have his inspirational, passionate speeches that no doubt will go on to help so many more people see the potential within themselves. God bless you Ken and may you rest in peace brother.

Always brilliant observations - he will be sorely missed as a voice of reason. I do not envy all the younger people in this world who still have to make their way through it the best they can. Hopefully, if nothing else, this pandemic will have taught us - like Sir Ken said - we the people have the power - if only everyone understood that and could band together to effect the changes needed - overriding the bureaucracy of government entities.

"Great teachers, great principles, great school systems understand that you don't make a successful education system based on driving people through pointless systems of tests and output data driven hurdles." @ErutaniaRose3 жыл бұрын
If they only follow the money, yes. The economy would boom and people would be making much more money and be much more passionate about their given fields in just 5-10 years after the change. So...if they could just look at the long term, even if they only look at the monetary gain, it would still be in their best interest. But...they never look forward. They just want money now, regardless of what it costs. Greed is certainly the great evil of the world.
