Parkie is the best interviewer ever. Caine is just the best. A northern Yorkshire lad chatting with a southern shandy drinking londoner.... no pretence just two friends having a chat. That's Parkie's gift, he's just got that manner that relaxes people and lets them talk.... You won't find anyone today as good as these two in their respective roles.

That was a triumph of the talk show. An interviewer more interested in his guest's input, and a guest at his ease as a raconteur to an audience who obviously love him. A jewel of an interview.

I've lived in Canada, The US, NZ & now Greece. I'm from Scotland. I honestly think Parky had the best questions, the best research and asked things that the viewers really wanted to know. Too many talk show hosts are more concerned with themselves or trying to be funny, the US is terrible for that.

@@chunkychinn Yes, but he was still one of the greatest entertainers on the planet, and extremely successful. Unfortunately, he was no different to other people that didn't have a normal childhood, plus his father was not a nice man. Also, to be honest, I wouldn't want to have 8 siblings in a two-bedroom house. That's what they experienced. Horrible. As he himself said, when speaking for himself, his childhood was taken away from him. I would never defend Michael Jacksons wrongdoing, because he did horrible things, but I don't think he understood the difference between right and wrong. He was like a kid. He had, from a very young age, people around him encouraging him to do things that aren't normal (drugs, etc.)

Of all the hundreds of interviews Parky did - this is probably his best.

I saw Michael in a store in Beverly Hills one early Sunday morning....regret not saying a word to him.

Mark, I think you shouldn't. Look at the situation from Michael's perspective. He wants to be gracious to strangers who recognize him, but truth be told, it's something of a burden to have to deal with.

I can't think of a comic that has better timing than this. What a Great story teller. I half half a mind to think it was prewritten. Even if it was, it's bloody brilliant

I remember he said ‘if you’re working class speak slowly to be taken seriously’. Listening to him speak after reading his book really helped my elocution. What a wonderful storyteller.

I'm sure M Caine could have done this interview solo and we wouldn't have missed the interviewer . Very charming, gracious and humorous; never an awkward moment.

Massive Admiration for MC. Self made Working Class Success … reminds me of my Dad ( same age sadly passed on) and many of this wonderful post war generation. Interesting one of his reasons for becoming actor - no one on screen represented a real working class lad so he wanted to do it . Great interview and great listening to him- what story teller …
