1diggitech the 430 is the exact same as the 455 . Minus bore or stroke. What you probably ran against was a 455 with low compression. 71-76 blue engines. Get up against a high compression red painted 70 stage 1 455, no chance for that 430. I have two Buick 455, one bored out to 464, 9.5:1 CR, sitting in my 69 Rivi, and an other stock block waiting for work. both out of 73-74 cars, but the stock low compression engine is a dog compared.

My mom had a 87 crown victoria bounced like hell muffler dragging windows didnt work had messed up rear shocks dent on the driver side quarter panel but it was a fast ol car!
