@@RudeLifeX I used to own the album, I’ve listened to every track and yes I’ve memorized baby got back. But this one always gets the blood pumping. It’s great for when you’re feeling/want to feel like a badass. If you’re not motivated before you will be very quickly. I like to use music to enhance my mood, this song is always a “go to” for me.
@theheckler58782 жыл бұрын
So I’ve had all day to rethink my answer here. I don’t think I really am capable of actually arguing my opinion. I don’t know music and it’s terms. So as a consumer all I can say is that after 26 years of knowing this album, this track stands out the most to me. It’s one of very few songs I know/remember the name to after so long. It still creates the same “feels” as it did when I was a kid. His flo is fast and still understandable. His usage of swear words is more about emphasis. Just as a rapper I like how is songs are themed. I think that allows for a more focused thought process both in creating the track as well as listening to it. In this track he’s referring to his own ability in comparison to a vehicle that was very popular at the time. And most guys like cars. As a guy, I can really get behind the lyrics. I really don’t know what else to say..?

I have this on CD and whenever I feel like annoying my neighbors I crank it up! The bass sounds so good on our large speakers! And I agree he didn’t get enough credit back in the day! But here in Seattle he had a lot of fans! You should check out “Posse On Broadway” and some of his other early stuff! And also check out Kid Sensation “Seatown Funk”! Seatown is a nickname for Seattle! Seattle’s speed limit used to be 55mph until I was in late teens! Sir Mix-a-Lot is from Seattle and is based there. I don’t know if he still owns it but when I was a teenager he had a house in Auburn, Washington! My friends showed me where it was once when I was 15 (I’m nearly 50 now). 😂. I don’t know if he also had a house in California! I’m not that kind of fan! 😂

I was 12 when this album came out and for the most part he was the Baby Got Back guy despite the couple hits he had prior like My Posse's On Broadway so this album didn't get a lot of love from what I saw but I think it's very underrated. It also didn't help that The Chronic came out later in the same year and changed everything.

Fun fact. No samples on that album. No samples means no payouts. Means more money
@superque43 жыл бұрын
You sure? THIS song prominently features the Knight Rider's theme. The SWASS hook is straight from Vanity 6's "Don't Cha Wish Your Your Girlfriend". "I Got Game" hooks Rick James' "Hard to Get" down to the "Oom Papa, Oom Papa" line. ??? To be clear, samples were routinely uncredited and largely unpaid in rap's early days unless the song hit and was worth going after for royalties after the fact.
@2xlsadf509 Жыл бұрын
Best use of the Knight Rider sample ever. He is from Seattle, not CA.
