Lucifer wasn't ALLOWED to interfer. Only when Adam laid his hands on Charlie, he broke the Deal that has been made. Only Sinners are allowed to be killed, no Hellborn. By attacking Charlie, Adam broke that Contact which allowed Lucifer to enter the fight.

@@SeanTanktop As a fan of Hazbin and Helluva Boss it was really good to see y'all's frustration with the holes in the storytelling. I picked up filler details here and there from people who picked them up from interviews and things the creator had said. I hadn't realized how many freaking gaps there are in the actual onscreen story. Makes sense that it would be frustrating and confusing to people coming in cold with only our standard cultural understanding of what heaven and hell are supposed to be (and why). I hope Vivienne Medrano gets this feedback for season 2.The gags and the moments of character development are great but she didn't connect them nearly as well as she did in Helluva Boss, which had many more episodes to tie it together. She also uses the songs to convey emotional content (as musicals do) but then sprinkles important plot information into the lyrics kind of randomly. Some songs require you to listen to and process the lyrics for important information and some songs are just emotional content. Pick a lane, Viv! 😄

Attacking Charlie is not killing a hellborn... though killing Razzle is killing a hellborn. Lucifer had an escape clause in his contract. Even in his song.. "normally charge a sacrificial lamb." Lucifer made sure Razzle and Dazzle protected Charlie... aka why Lucifer told Razzle and Dazzle that they "better be"

@@SeanTanktop To be honest, IMO, I think 95% of Hazbin's major issues stem from the fact that eight 25-minute episodes is simply not enough to tell the story they wanted to tell. Almost all the criticisms I have for the series just need more runtime to fix. Heck, Helluva Boss has had 300 minutes of runtime so far to Hazbin's 200, and it _still_ feel like Hazbin covered a lot more plot so far in comparison. If it was a deliberate choice on the creative team's part, then that was a _catostrophic_ mistake. But if that was genuinely all Amazon gave them to work with? Then honestly, I don't think you could make it much better than this without compromising the story. So 🤷

right but we don't know that, really. Shit, we still don't know how or who decides what lands you in Heaven or Hell at all. We never spend any time in heaven outside of the trail, and that was heavily curated, who's to say they don't end up there. I know its inferred, but it still goes to show how mammothly underdrawn this show's concepts are if you don't follow Viv on Twitter.

@@SeanTanktop I get the feeling "how do you actually get into heaven" is meant to be a mystery in the show accentuated by the reveal that not even Sera knows. In that sense I wouldn't call it a plot hole or something they forgot to include. That's not to say it doesn't have plenty of other stuff that's underexplained, I just don't think this is one of them.

As a long-time fan of both Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, I'm honestly glad you guys finished the series despite your grieviances! It is plain to see you guys are still enjoying the show, even if you don't fully pick up on every detail about it, which leads to your nitpicks. Most fans usually do multiple rewatches of each episode, which is why the details are clearer, but it is understandable if things can move too fast for non-fans. Nevertheless, I'm glad you all had fun with the show, even with the roller coaster wild ride speed. This is why this show is considered a success, despite what Twitter/Tumblr has to say about it or the creator. I have a feeling Helluva Boss would be a much better fit for your viewing, as that show was able to take their time fleshing out more things. Its up to you to decide if you like how S2 goes, tho.

A lot of your criticism that you voiced throughout the shows is definitely valid reads because while I absolutely love the series I feel a lot of the lines that are played for jokes make it easy to make very different assumption about the plot and universe when you're not familiar with the creator's other works. Or for example the webshow "Helluva boss" which basically plays in the same world as Hazbin but focused more on the beings born in hell than on any of the sinners. They announced it after the Hazbin Hotel pilot as a side project but Hazbin got picked up by a studio. So in the meantime they kept creating new episodes for Helluva Boss which have been steadily releasing on youtube. Almost 2 full seasons before Hazbin aired on Amazon. So people who watched that already come in with a lot more context. Additionally I don't think it helped that supposed the script for season 1 was for double the episodes but they only got 8. So cuts had to happen. I sincerely hope that Season 2 will be given some more room to breath.

The popular theory on why lucifer didnt get involved earlier is because of his deal with heaven. His deal was that exterminations were fine as long as they didnt tey to kill hellborns. It wasnt until adam said he was going to kill charlie, a hellborn, that he could get involved and punish adam

Won't be surprised if someone else already said it. However, Souls when they die they come into being representing how they died in life. Sir Pentious since he is a snake in the afterlife one can assume he died via snake bite. The Radio Demon Died in a hunting accident as a hunter mistook him for a deer, hence the deer antlers. The egg bois I don't really have an answer for how they could have died but that is the general reason the people look the way they do. Then there is the Hell/Heaven born who are natural denizens of their given home. For example Charlie is a hellborn and The Charlie of Heaven (Forgot her name) is a Heavenborn. That is my understanding of that part of the lore, I could be wrong so only take this with a grain of salt so to speak. :) I enjoyed your reactions to this series, it is refreshing when someone isn't instantly head over heels for the show.

Im glad you guys enjoyed the finale at least!! The show got approved for 2 more seasons so its going to be exciting to see where they take things. But anyways I think you guys should def check out Helluva Boss when you can! Its only on KZbin and has 2 seasons out now, also far less copyright restrictions since its more of an independent show, also made by Vivienne Medrano who created Hazbin. Both shows take place in the same universe too so its cool to notice certain easter eggs and nods at eachother !! Also Helluva Boss is so incredibly funny 😂

Yeah, I like Hazbin better, but honestly Helluva Boss is way funnier. I was actually kind of meh about Hazbin when it came to Prime, then I binged HB during the break after episode 4 and I was so eager for more it made me super stoked for the rest of Hazbin. I'm dying for a crossover. Honestly, I'd love to see Alastor take on one of the characters that's supposedly out of his weight class.

As far as Sir Pentious causing a a "revamping" of the rules in heaven... I don't think *any* of the characters that we've seen in heaven have any knowledge or control over the rules at all. When Sir Pentious ascended to heaven, both the Seraphim we saw we're completely shocked at his arrival. And during the heavenly court episode it was pretty heavily implied that they don't actually know what gets a soul into heaven. As was said in the video, he straight up skipped talking to St. Peter and was 'ported right to Sera. Meaning, either *someone else we havent met* is in charge, or the process in completely *automated*. So I don't think Sir Pentious will cause any rule changes. Most likely what will happen is the public reveal that the elites of heaven don't know what the requirements to enter are and have no control over who enters. For me that is the most interesting aspect of Sir Pentious' ascension: Who or what is actually in charge of who gets into heaven?, and how much trouble are the elites of heaven in for their attempts to mess with hell?

Without going into a list of grievances, the major criticism of HH is that it's trying to do too much with so little time. I will say however, you guys are quick to make judgements on heaven given the lack of info I'm hoping we get to see Adam in hell in season 2. Have a great day!

This is actually never talked about, but Lucifer probably couldn’t show up until he did. His contract with Heaven was that they could do exterminations and Lucifer wouldn’t interfere, as long as they didn’t hurt anybody born in hell, and when they killed the dragon, that was technically a hellborn, so that was when the contract broke and he could help out.

It doesn't explain anything about the sinners, what? Its main focus is the Hellborn and even then it doesn't explain a ton about them. There's some stuff you can infer but it's mostly guesses. I do think they might enjoy it more because it's less of a musical and has less moralizing but you're overselling the wrong parts of it.

completely understandable if the hazbin fandom put you off of it, but helluva boss is definitely worth checking out if you're remotely interested in learning more about this world. it's this show if the characters were 5x better defined and had time to develop and with a plot that wasnt crammed into 8 episodes

If people know sinners can get into heaven, they'll stop the exterminations! So he makes a deal with Lilith to keep her hidden and secret, but now Adam is like, maybe it works both ways. See, in the Bible, Adam lived to be over 900 years old. Imagine getting to heaven and finding out your ladywife Eve of like 800 something years was in Hell for all eternity!! I hope you watch Helluva Boss someday, but people in these comments are trying to sell you on it by focusing on the wrong things. Don't watch it if you want to fill in the gaps in your knowledge of this world. It will give you a little bit of that, but nothing very important and certainly nothing that came up in the course of watching Hazbin. It will actually probably leave you with more questions about the world than it answers. Even though they're the focus of the show I'm pretty sure I learned the word "Hellborn" from the fandom and that it was never actually said in-universe until episode 1 (not the pilot) of Hazbin came out. When people say it does that I can only assume they mean fan theories that were inspired by things hinted at in the show, or things hinted at in the show that Vivzie later elaborated on elsewhere. In that sense it's really not much better than Hazbin. Unfortunately its main selling points are pretty subjective. I think the characters are more likeable. You learn more about their lives and see more of what makes them tick. The music feels less like musical numbers. It's focused more on the small picture, character moments. After Hazbin I still don't see it being quite your cup of tea but I think you'll get a kick out of it if you ever decide to watch it.

Now do Hell of a Boss!! It's even better and way funnier!! Many of the same people worked in it but also a majorly funny old school type KZbinr voices and writes a lot of it. It also fills in a lot of the gaps of Hazbin
