Excellent side-car system. I could see how this could be useful for Law Enforcement cadet training!! This would speed up ticket-issuing times and really allow for faster influx for needed funds from payments made. GREAT POST!!

I had such a setup years ago with a HD Police Special and a Goulding Rocket. It looks good in theory and actually not too bad at speed but was a handful at low speed. I saw the rider use his right foot on the sidecar frame at 3:22. It looks like this rig has a bumpstop. I dare say it could change the whole dynamic if you hit it at speed. I sold my rig as it just wasn't what I had dreamed it to be. The buyer eventually put on a 3rd (upper front) mount; something I heartily endorsed.

I like the maneuverability of the bike with the side car. Yes, you could have a car, but but this is more fun, and you can do more with a sidecar than just haul people.

The ability to lean without flipping over on a right turn makes this a great design, but I would love to see an off-road rendition with two drive wheels if it's possible like with a Ural. Maybe there's a way of powering a axel that can be engaged when you don't want it to lean and you need two rear wheels.

Back in 1979 I bought a 6cyl. Kawasaki KZ 1300. We were looking at sidecars. One was called The Coupe Royale by Motorvation. That was my favorite. The build quality with fit and finish we're first rate. But the most maneuverable one was called Equal Lean. Far superior to the one in this video. The designer was a hell of a nice guy and spend a lot of time with us showing off his workmanship. As the name would imply, the sidecar leaned with a bike.

Had an Equal Lean. Could only lay the bike over 35 degrees into aright hand curve. Not forgiving when I had to make a 38 degree banking curve. I survived better than the sidecar

That’s an excellent idea, very similar to the Sidewinder side car principles from the 80s, albeit sidewinder was a little platform with a little wheel, it was used by 17 year olds who wanted big capacity bikes whilst under license restrictions (provisional license) instead of riding 125 machines, then the loop hole was changed by the government and Sidewinder was no more..

If you build a three-wheeler with front AND rear steering (AWS), it will behave like a motorcycle with a side car, as the rear wheel(s) align with the front in the curves. In-line right, in-line left, like a balanced bike.

Entweder das Motorrad steht auf dem seitenständer oder du hast eine aluminiumstrebe die du am Motorrad einrastest. Damit steht die bmw genau gerade und man kann das Gespann perfekt rangieren. Die strebe ist aber nicht geeignet um damit auf der Straße zu fahren

very simple - to the right, the motorcycle is secured. To the left it can fall over .... and you do not want with 322 KG. The attachment consists of ball joints ....

Денис Лобов : Ну что тут нормального ?! Если ТЫ МОЖЕШЬ завалить моцик, то и ЦБ (Центробежная) сила МОЖЕТ ТЕБЯ завалить в обратную от поворота сторону !!! Более тупее конструкции за 100 с лишним лет мотоциклостроения ещё небыло. Здесь не только надо думать на какой угол руль поворачивать, но ещё ловить жопой крен и угол наклона самого моцика !!! А ширину меньше не сделаешь. Ширина машины , а все минусы моцика с коляской . "Дебилы бл.дь"- сказал бы Лавров.

Are you not 'on top' of the passenger in a right hand turn? I would think it would be more interesting if the sidecar also leaned. Would the side car switch sides in RHD markets such as the UK and Australia, otherwise the passenger would be exposed to potential overtaking hazards?

my right ellbow is near the window of the boat. Someone behind me ist also in front of the helmet of the sidecarpassenger. Para un sidecar necesitas al menos un 800 o 1000. Mientras más, mejor. Y estos vehículos están diseñados para carreteras excelentes. No estoy tan seguro de qué tan buenas están las carreteras en Cuba en este momento. Conozco Venezuela desde hace 25 años. Las carreteras allí eran buenas, pero siempre había sorpresas. Una alternativa más económica sería un vehículo Ural, prácticamente indestructible pero con capacidad para 3 o 4 personas.

for the side cart there should be braking system like car trailer. weight sensitive side mounts for braking. when you brake wet conditions loaded bike you will have control over your bike. something for the enginers

No company (BMW, KTM, HD...) allows to work at her modern braking system... Engineering like you wrote above will cost thousends of Euro/Dollar and so on.... In Germany there are mayby 500 - 600 Leaner in the street. This is not the real business case. After 12 years driving a leaner i promise : Take a modern bike with ABS und it will fit !
