Thanks for the video lecture Sir A! Ive learned that Minimum Wage Earner or SMW is a worker that works either private or public sector and earns of not more than statutory minimum wage. The minimum wage differs in every region of the country and it should be prescribed by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity. A minimun wage is a salary that paid to a worker for working for 8 hours and if its exceed it will be subject to overtimepay. So Why does MWE are exempt to tax? Base on the graduated tax rate table for a person to be tax exempt the annual income should not exceeds over Php 250,000 and base on the illustration that Sir A computes if a MWE works even without absent it doesnt exceeds the taxability threshold.

I've learned a lot in this lesson. In which a minimum wage earner, or SMW, is a member of either the public or private sector who is paid no more than the legal minimum wage. The minimum salary varies depending on where you live. A person's annual income must not exceed Php 250,000 according to the graduated tax rate table in order for them to be tax-exempt.

I now know that a minimum wage earner, also known as an SMW, is an employee who works in either the private or public sector and makes no more money than the legal minimum wage. The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity should set the minimum wage because it varies by region across the nation. A minimum wage is the income an employee receives for eight hours of work; if more than eight hours are worked, overtime pay is due. Then why is MWE free from paying taxes? According on the progressive tax rate table, an individual's annual income must not exceed P250,000 to qualify for tax exemption, and based on an example calculated by Sir A, if a MWE works even when absent, it does not.

Minimum wage earner refers to the legally binding nature of minimum wages, regardless of how they are set. Minimum wages can be established by statute, decision of a competent authority, wage board, wage council, or industrial or labor courts or tribunals. Minimum wages can also be established by making collective bargaining provisions legally binding. The goal of minimum wages is to protect workers from unfairly low pay. They contribute to ensuring a just and equitable share of the fruits of progress for all, as well as a living wage for all who are employed and require such protection. Minimum wages can also be part of a policy to combat poverty and reduce inequality, including inequality between men and women, by promoting the right to equal pay for equal work.

After viewing, I discovered that the phrase "smw" or "mwe" refers to the bare minimum of compensation that an employer, whether public or private, must provide to wage earners. Moreover, minimum wage workers are free from income tax on their wages for hazard pay, overtime, holidays, and overnight shifts.

Minimum wages are the minimum amount of remuneration that an employer is required to pay wage earners for the work performed during a given period which Connor be reduced by a collective agreement or an individual contract. Minimum Wage earners as defined in Section 2(HH) of this code shall be exempt from the payment of income tax on their taxable income. Examples are farmland, retail sales clerks, childcare workers, waitresses, and maids. Thank you!

The Supreme Court held that the proper interpretation is that minimum wage earners would be subject to income tax only on taxable income received in excess of the statutory minimum wage.
