They sang Decalcomanie. Since they sing live they can adlib and change the lyrics however they want; they worked in lots of famous lines from movies and shoutouts to the actors in the audience. Audience started smiling and warming up. Moonbyul (because *of course* it's Moonbyul) in her rap asked out one of the most famous actors in Korea with his famous line from a movie. The audience lost their shit!* By the end of one song the cold audience was smiling, clapping, bopping to Mamamoo. * - Because, after all, "It's not a Mamamoo performance unless someone in the audience loses their shit™". I think captions on Aze Gag are impossible because it is all puns and wordplay, and it really benefits from reading a full explanation on a static page rather than trying to catch everything on captions. Reading the literal translation without explanation makes even less sense than just going in blind. Also, re: Delca. OH YEP. I just watch the dance version because it's less cringe. If I want cringe, I'll just watch Moonbyul's acting.

The song New York is about girlfriends convincing Wheein to have a girl’s night out. The problem is that Wheein is in one of those relationships where the couple is attached at the hip. For example, Wheein exercises and the guy sweats (they are like one person). They spend every moment from the time they get up in the morning til they go to bed (shown by split screen of Wheein and the guy in the morning). So, chances are even when Wheein meets her friends, the guy probably has been tagging along. Moonbyul briefs Wheein about a plan to have girls only night out by pretending she is in New York. The plan went well until the end when the guy accidentally runs into them. Mamamoo songs have some unique ideas. Lol. Also, I recommend reacting to two subunit songs - Angel (sung by Solar & Wheein) and Dab Dab (sung by Moonbyul & Hwasa). These songs are on the same album as Decalcomani. The MVs on the official website are actually live performances from a concert, so there might be more to react to as a vocal coach. When these songs were released, mamamoo members made a bet on their respective songs about which song will rank higher on the chart, and the losing duo had to receive a penalty. Guess which team won.

The fact you should know: There’s an organization (I’m not sure how to call it) that always involved in many LGBT activities in Korea called Rainbow Moomoo which is formed by Mamamoo’s fans. They often went to the fan meeting and they would tell mamamoo what they did. generally, at least in their first few years, the versions of MVs posted on distributor channels (1theK etc) got more views. the mamamoo channel versions are more likely to get similar or sometimes more views nowadays, but RBW still don't tag and title the videos well for english speaking/International audiences so its not guaranteed... (you noticed that the mmm versions often don't come up when you search 😔) also new york wasnt the title track, so not as many views bc of that too!

ha, you're absolutely right on "aze gag" with captions... the song is pretty much nothing but dad jokes and lame puns, they're talking about older male officer workers who love doing those kinds of lame jokes and expect expect everyone to laugh at them. solar is seen laughing at all the jokes and then seen writing for them...which kind of talks about her humor style basically, even when translated, none of it would make sense since so much is based on word play and homonyms, which often gets lost in translation. but the channel dkdk tv did make an attempt at breaking the jokes down as they watched the video, if you're interested (and they groaned the whole time at just how bad they were the whole time) the guy talking on th tv is a famous korean comedian and he told a few jokes in that segment (something along the lines of 'what kind of noise does a robotic chicken make' "mmm chicken, mmm chicken'. and then one about a 'mother radish', whichis 'mama moo') ...also, that wall segment. there are whole videos and twitter threads dedicated to the best wheein ship out there, wheein x wall. she seems to love those walls...

New York was I think a pre-release for their mini album Memory. Wheein was trying to convince the guy she's dating online that she's living in New York and the gang is helping her with the scheme. Like what has already been said in this comment section, Decalcomanie has awesome live stages. The mv throws a lot of people off, apart from the dude, is because of the Memory interlude. The jazzy part of the song was another track of theirs called Memory or Draw Draw Draw which has Christmassy jazzy vibes. There's also an mv you can check out. The song Decalcomanie is also about the first kiss. The metaphors shown were how koreans would describe the feeling of the first kiss (fruit, swing, etc) so the meaning is lost to an international audience. Speaking of lost in translation, don't bother trying to understand Aze Gag and just enjoy it as it is. It's a song about dad jokes full of dad jokes. What I love about mamamoo crack songs is that you get a break from too much awesomeness jn their albums and you also get to see their personalities, that this grouo doesn't take everything seriously and knows how to have fun. Plus i don't know many groups with crack songs, in fact, i don't know any group with a collection of crack songs. I don't know if you're only going to react to their pre-releases and titles tracks only because they have tons of mvs even if it's not in the commercial quality but still very satisfying like Hometown, Angel, Dab Dab, Memory, Recipe and the moomoo song I love you too (alt titles: never letting go, tears) which sokar initially wrote because she was so moved by the fan's first banner event that says "never letting go". Months later, moonbyul and hwasa contributed to the song which they released as part of their Memory album as a thank you to moomoos. I think you also missed on of my favorite tracks, Aah Ooh with singer Esna. They also have 2 pre-debut mvs Peppermint Chocolate and Don't be Happy which features only Wheein and Solar.

You should also listen to Moonbyul and Hwasa's 'Dab Dab' and Solar and Wheein's 'Angel', it was sort of an Angel vs Rapper line that came before Décalcomanie. Omg haha Austin im already watching it. Decalcomanie was indeed a title, New York an cf (again) and aze gag a pre release for yes I am! I would recommended to watch yes I am (title track), windflower (title) and paint me (it got released to introduce the 4season 4colour project). I think after that you have listened and watched to every title track. :-)

I actually like New York a lot. It lifts up my spirit! Together with DAB DAB and Angel, they were the first new releases after I got into MAMAMOO. Also I love Decalcomanie but always forget there's a man in the MV, I think I ended up watching the performance version most of the time.
