I've been working on getting the rolling stock and locomtove rosters weathered- at least an intial dose to take away the shine and help everythig blend together. This video is an overviewof my current "fleet weathering" process. It covers mostly rolling stock- some boxcars, coverd hoppers, a caboose, and peaks at a Pennsy GP7.
I still use the Vallejo Hobby Sprays for the initial underframe/roof weathering, but have migrated to the airbrush for better control and results (sometimes!) on the bodies. If the mood strikes me I may then use washes of Vallejo Model Color or Model Air, Vallejo Washes, and various brands of Pigments. Once I'm done playing I spray on a final Flat or Satin finish coat.
Up next I may post a (shorter) video on several locomotives I finished- the Penny GP7, a NYC Sharknose A/A set, and a NYC FA2 A/A set. I can also show the Reading C630. In addition, I did several Brass milk cars. These were factory painted but are now old and weary looking!
