I haven't dove into the Jazwares Pokemon rabbit hole yet, not a big fan of how the joints look on some of them. But Metagross looks fantastic because I think his design lends well to a poseable toy. Hope to see more of these from you!

Imo don’t, jazwares makes shit. They’re the offshoot American distributor for Garbo Pokemon toys once Pokemon signed with Squishmallow’s holding company which also owns Jazwares they gave them distribution and toy rights in NA. The Pokemon squishmallows are notoriously poor quality and jazwares plush and figures most certainly follow the same trend. Pokemon’s only worse collab is that with Funko…. Sure the terrible ball joints look more integrated into metagross’ design here but look just how abysmally articulated those joints are… avoid with fervor

@@Shiftarus Hasbro had the US distro license through my childhood so I’m woefully nostalgic and likely jaded by a time when Tomy and Mattel worked to make toy grails like the “Megaman PET Advanced” available in the states as well. The type of articulation on this entire Jazwares line is just so less to be desired for especially when there’s a Japanese model kit line. For many reasons Model kits are more cost effective and superior in terms of pose-ability - but manufacturers that can nail quality low effort action figures are toy gems imo. Bandai spirits actually does a great job for figures many of which are like $15 pricier but have solid engineering and sculpting/molding What exactly would you say if a black series figure’s arm ball joint completely popped off during a casual review? I look at black series Droideka which is $35 clams and I look at this and I just cannot understand why we’re gassing up jazwares….. I’ve only personally purchased their Scizor and Scyther to speak and can only speak to the low quality of the plastic for toy plastic but have a friend who’s obsessed with the johto dogs and aside from skinny leg Suicune who can kinda get away with it; her poor poor straight hotdog leg Raiku, has us constantly joking about the even thiccer legged Entei coming out this year as we visit GameStop looking for it/cards. Them legs just so bad I’d rather have a fixed figure 3x the price smaller Pokemon scale world metagross/dog trio every single day. When your figure’s articulation is basically a consolation prize IS it worth the price??? I still can’t stop laughing at how bad this thing looks when they put it up into “x-UFO flight mode” and the legendary dog legs seems like it’s of the same awkward symptom evidently the quality in fitment and mold lines are iffy with the jazwares stuff. Our market just seems unfortunately ready to accept lesser quality things and consider them a steal that’s just my take

Question about that RubnBuff stuff: 1. How well does it even out from the brush strokes after applying? 2. How durable is it without a topcoat layer? 3. Does it smell bad???

Hey!! 1) It’s a bit different than normal paint since it’s wax based. Once you apply it, you can rub it in and it spreads really nicely! 2) It depends on what you’re painting. Some plastics hold really well without the top coat. But I always believe the top coat is the better option, plus the matte finish looks great! 3) Doesn’t smell bad at all! Hope this helps!

I don’t know if you’ve done it before but some Godzilla toy photography would be awesome, although the figures are kind of pricey so I recommend something like a Bandai vinyl. While they don’t have a lot of articulation they look good and they are budget friendly.

I bought a new metagross at GameStop then I had been played it for a moments but its right leg has stuck jointed. I figured it for a few hours and found it. If your metagross has stuck joint leg and try to upside down it and move the join leg. It will back normal. Shouldn’t take off the leg…..

That's a sweet metagross. He's alot bigger than I expected since they try to stay in size range of each other. I like thies figures and I've gotten some of my favorites from them but the best deal I've found was the lugia figure for 7.00 at target I seen it their for 21.00 for the longest time but didn't get it and it was just kinda sitting their for the longest time just didn't have the urge to buy it then one day I went and it was gone was slightly sad about not getting it but then I looked at their toy clearance and their it was for 7.00 so I knew I had to pick it up now and to be honest not bad can get it into some cool poses but a nice figure overall and for that price couldent be happier lol!

Aren't Funko Pops like $15-20? Seeing a decent collectable like this for only $22 seems really fair, though I don't know if the rest of the Jazwares Pokemon are this good. Nice work on the painting, really adds an extra pop to Metagross.

They won’t stop, the holding company is also responsible for squishmallow the Pokemon collab taking advantage of the same licensing agreement are notorious for trash quality. In my read it at LEAST looks like Pokemon center has a little more oversight on the squishmallows which they also sell on their UK and US based storefronts. Between Pokemon Buddying up with Funko and the shit I see from Jazwares I’m thinking it’s partially on Pokemon to not license its brands to companies that produce garbage just because it gets them more international distribution.
