Thanks for watching. That's the fun part of outfitting a small sailboat for camping and cruising. You really need to think hard on how to save space, avoid overloading the boat and make her safe and nimble to sail!

I don't have much squared out space on my Dovekie but I might could build box containers in the long hull shaped bins. Thanks for the inspiration.

Could you tell me what kind of iPad mount you have? Looks like it swings out when underway?
@siren172 жыл бұрын
Hi Ken, yes sure. It's a good one found on Amazaon here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07498TDLW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Great work - i have posted a link to some history of the Siren from our raft up we held in 2004 in Owen Sound Ontario
@siren173 жыл бұрын
Hi Randy and thanks to the kind words. And also thanks for posting the link, I looked at the video before and it is quite informative. Being a filmmaker, I have actually embarked on the project of making a documentary about the Siren. I already shot interviews of two prominent owners and members of the Facebook Siren 17 group and am hoping to be allowed to travel to Owen Sound and interview of Hubert and Fraser this summer. Both are on board for the project. I am also desperately looking for archival video/8mm film and photos of past raft ups. Do you have access to any or do you know owners who may have some archival material to share? Cheers, Terry

Toward the end of this video, you show the soft caddies which you hung from some sort of mount. Is this something you installed or came with your boat (the mount not the caddies)? I own a 1976 Siren and I am interested in hanging organizing caddies, but not sure how.
@siren172 жыл бұрын
Hi Jake, the supports for the side caddies are just 1x1 pieces of wood which i glue underneath the deck with Six10 thickened epoxy.

Excellent ideas!…may I ask..where did you get your front opening port light? I have owned 3Sirens, and that is one feature I need.
@siren172 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, the opening port light was installed at the factory on 85-87 models. It looks very much like this one. www.amazon.com/dp/B00OHN9E7Q/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_7NQY4B6CPR7H0Y5N20JS

I like the salon lighting. Are those LED?
@siren172 жыл бұрын
Yes, LED strip lights from Amazon. Easy to install, many color settings and only $16. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PCR7LPS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

You've done a beautiful job on your Siren. Are your windows stock, or did you replace the side windows and/or modify the front cabin wall for a flat porthole?
@siren17 Жыл бұрын
No modifications. My Siren 17 was an original 1986 model with the more modern shaped windows and an opening front porthole.

How does the stove not fall out?
@siren173 жыл бұрын
The strip underneath the wooden cover prevents it from sliding out.
@notathaiguy Жыл бұрын
Where do you store the fuel tanks for the stove? I did not see in the kitchen boxes. Did I miss it? Merci

We use public bathroom as much as possible, pee in the water and have a shovel when in the wilderness. I also have a small porta potty when sailing in busy area I can take on board.
