LOTS OF UPDATES BELOW: For the record I bought a Pink Version because I was able to get it for $124 and returned my black version for $170. That is the ONLY reason why I got two. Both have wild variance. - Side buttons are the same. - Weight balancing feels different. With the Pink feeling less balanced. - Scroll wheel on black version is very light, with less defined steps, and mushy middle click. Pink is moderate pressure, solid steps, and great middle click. -Primary Clicks are wildly different. Black is very light and crisp. Pink is heavy and ultra crisp. Harder to spam. Which is likely why you get a lot of people saying different things about the clicks. Both are true but lottery dependent. - PTFE was very scratchy on Pink but after breaking in is much improved. But still not good compared to the rest of the competition. Also, according to BeardedBob the internal differences are as followed (kzbin.info/www/bejne/bIrGiJJ9naaFeKMsi=3T6Y2c-dqPPm5zW-): SAME: - Split skates and thickness. But different shape. - Screw positions. - Powerplay - On/off switch - Side button layout - Primary clicks but thinner 3.18 vs 3.24 grams - Scroll wheel and TTC Encoder - Outer shell (outside of USB/support bracket) but lighter 12.50 grams to 12.74 grams. - Same omron side switches. DIFFERENT: - 290 milliamp compared to 240 milliamp - Ribbon cable for battery - Wider connector - PCB (5.74 grams vs 5.36 grams) - MCU new JC121522 vs old S2833 - Base with different rivets/holes/design (7.89 grams vs 8.22 grams) - Top internal base rivets/holes/design - Switches - D2FP-FH1 (Logi) UPDATES AFTER A FEW WEEKS: 1. Clicks have loosened up even more. To the point I'd say they are equal with my OG Superlight in actuation pressure. But otherwise what I said in the review. 2. Sensor continues to feel better and better the more I use it. Still not up to the Focus+/Focus Pro. But the old GPX has been off my desk for a long time because it felt poo-poo to use. This will continue to be on my desk for some time. As the bump in performance is noticeable enough where the reasons why I didn't like the GPX (floaty feeling) cease to exists. 3. Battery life is insane. 4. PTFE feet broke in after 2 - 3 weeks. Which is insane how long that took. Where they went from incredibly scratchy to quite smooth and delightful. Who knows how long that will last though. 5. In general, this mouse almost seems to keep improving the longer I use it. Which seldom happens. And it has grown on me and I am really enjoying it and reach for it often. But still think the V2 Pro, DAV3, Viper Mini SE are better performance wise. But think the GPX 2 feels better in the hand from a build quality standpoint.

I think its totally worth the upgrade if you get annoyed by the double click problem which I experienced alot when I try to single tap in counter-strike. That thing alone is worth the upgrade. But I also had a problem with the scroll that it sometimes scrolled up when i scrolled down. Also the battery life is alot better and I play at 1000 hz since I notice no difference at 2k. So yeah, its all win, except maybe the click sound which was a bit better on the first mouse.

I love the GPX Superlight in particular it's shape .. so why would Logitech want to change it? You do know Logitech makes other mice. This is just an updated version and everyone who owns a GPX knows it already. I have multiple copies (V1s) that are all heavily modded including hot swappable PCBs. The micro USB is the very least of my concerns, I have an adapter that goes from micro to C and it takes a couple seconds to swap. The new optical switches break in after 1 to 2 weeks so maybe you might want to use it... However, my preferred encoder is the TTC Gold encoder .. so I'll have to desolder that and replace it once I get my copy from Colorware. I'd love to see a carbon fiber V3 of this mouse and I'm certain I would buy it as well, and I still would prefer that they leave the shape alone. I feel the exact same way about my Razer DeathAdder V1-V2 to now the WTF is V3 shape where I thought Razer had completely lost their minds! If you want a different shape then call it something different.

Apologies if it came across as me expecting/wanting Logitech to change the shape. I don’t and even said I’m glad that they stuck with the same legendary shape. I don’t think I’m alone in the expectation of wanting more out of Logitech and their refresh of the most popular mouse on the planet. Especially, since these updates could have just been done without adding a 2. I would argue that most people will be upgrading solely for the USB-C port and are not wanting to use an adapter. But that is a solid solution and I’ll need to pick one up for my other legacy devices. I also think that most people don’t want to mod their mouse or spend more money on a product that already costs $159. As I think you go more hardcore than most. Which isn’t me calling you out as I’m often in the same boat. Lol. While the clicks have gotten lighter, everything else I said about them is the same. And up to that point I had used them a crazy amount. With the interest in different materials, I think they would make bank doing that. Such as having a limited-edition magnesium alloy and carbon fiber one. But based on Logitech’s recent track record I don’t see them doing something so out of the box. But would love to be proved wrong about that. I get where you are coming from about if it is a different shape then call it something different. I think I’m on the fence about that one. On one side I agree with your statement. But on the other, I don’t see it as a different product, but instead a refinement of an old shape. Cars do this all the time. And in my opinion I much prefer the V3 Deathadder shape to the V2 and older shapes and from the consensus I am seeing in my comment section and online I think most people agree. With the Viper going through the same treatment now with the V3 Hyperspeed it will be interesting to see the communities reaction to that once the Pro version drops and more people try it out.

My G Pro Superlight 1 button is already experiencing double clicking issues though. Your competitive fps games are ruined the moment this happens. Especially in counter strike where you need to be able to tap your fires at times. So that's going to be a new G Pro Superlight 1 every 1 to 2 years, unless you know how to solder and replace mouse buttons.

Even a logitech gaming keyboard I had with triple-clicking button issue, which is extremely frustrating since it costs more than the mouse. No idea why no one has sued them yet, whereas there are already class action lawsuits against bad quality gaming console controllers. I used to have a razer deathadder a long time ago before that logitech 403. It eventually developed the same double clicking issue too. Another Steelseries gaming mouse I once got turned extremely sticky and unusable. So it's not just logitech, but something prevalent within the entire industry. They don't make their mice to last at all. Or with good quality beneath the surface. Whereas some ancient mouse I had as a kid is still working fine after many years. It's just some very cheap mouse I bought from a neighborhood PC store when I was very young.

I've found the occurrence of double clicks varies quite a bit. Where some people never develop them. Where others do all the time. Interestingly enough geographic location does make an impact on the switches. Which may be playing a main part in your situation with so many mice failing. Usually, having an environment with low humidity and dust decreases occurrence. And probably some other things I've forgotten. I've bought a ton of gaming mice and never had double clicking. Or chatter on a keyboard. So again, I really do think it is an environmental thing. You're someone who should definitely look into optical switches over mechanical. @@zanaros2606

@@ThomasMuehler It just showed up yesterday. the box unopened was less weight than my g403. right away i noticed a slight difference in the palm grip. the superlight has a leaner/slimmer back compared to the g403. will take some time to get used to. the scroll wheel isn't mushy anymore, i can feel each scroll. the click on it is silent which is different. I played aimlabs and some games with it so far - definitely enjoy it a lot. Right now im going to see if I should get glass skates or put grips on. but ya 100% worth the upgrade from a non superlight. My friend has the superlight 1 and if I was on that I probably wouldn't upgrade just for the usb-c/new switches alone. but for a new upgrade/jump from a 40$ mouse big worth it.

The Superlight 2 doesn't look much different, but for me, it fixed EVERYTHING I didn't like about the first Superlight. I was a little disappointed with the Superlight because of how game-changing the original G Pro Wireless was. I feel like Superlight 2 is what the Superlight should have been. Overall, I'd say it's worth it if you can afford it.

It seems that if you already have the Superlight V1, it's not worth upgrading to the V2. However, if you don't have the V1 and are considering getting the Superlight, then going for the V2 is the way to go. Choosing the V1 over the V2 doesn't make any sense unless there was some major problem between the two.

I’m a moron, like to make bad choices, and enjoy the latest and greatest so I would go with the GPX2 as it would eat away at my soul if I didn’t get it. However, I think if you aren’t a freak like me then the Superlight 1 is the superior choice as you are getting 90% or more of everything for less than half the cost. And my recommendation would be the Superlight 1. Especially at that price.

It has been a while since I did some math regarding this issue. But found that Logitech, specifically the GPW/GPX was experiencing higher than normal rates of defects from their cheap mechanical switches. Which translated is like 10 - 15% of users. Which means 85 - 90% of users weren't having issues. But when the normal average is like 5 - 6% that is considerable. Especially, when you have a mouse this popular. So you not having issues for a year and half is still to be expected. I haven't had double clicks on any of my mice either. As there is other things that come into play that can increase issues. Such as higher humidity. Which is another conversation. But basically, not having double clicks is the norm. But if you are unlucky or depending on certain environmental factors it can increase the probability of double clicks happening. Which when spending premium money can be frustrating. Especially, if outside of that 2-year warranty window. Which is why I recommend optical switches. As they won't double click. And are technically faster latency wise. But don't feel as good to the touch. But that is more a user preference thing.

Regardless I feel as if the switches with the GPX are considerably better than other popular mice for me the mouse that has caused me the most double clicks would be the model o wireless as slightly clicked too fast and hard will cause it to click 2 or more times despite its popularity the issue is persistent. On all the model o's I've tested myself.

As I see them more like the Walmart brand of gaming mice. Yes, they have some reasonably good stuff and at good prices. But there is a quality difference there.

Great question. I haven't tried it. So this is just my thoughts from what I'm hearing/seeing. I think it was a smart move from Logitech to release a mouse that is more ergo centric that is also at a semi-competitive weight. Why they didn't just release the G703, but updated, and lighter weight, I'm not sure. Also, they "upgraded" the sensor. Knowing Logitech it was probably a firmware update. The specs seem a bit wonky on it. But I'd be interested in trying it out. However, it may be a new sensor as the GPX 2 should get the same firmware update it if it was based on that. I find it strange that the GPX 2 doesn't get the bump in specs. I think the upgraded sensor was needed as they were quite far behind when it comes to the "premium mouse tier". The only things I found interesting was the shape and new sensor. But not enough to actually go buy it. I think I've heard they offer 8K polling now too. Which is interesting from such a small dongle. As I have a hard time thinking that will have as good of connection as the competition. But they have surprised me in the past. I haven't had time to test it out yet. As I've been slammed between work and school. I've heard good things about the possible new generation hybrid optical clicks. But that could also just be due to the shell design. Which again is a step in the right direction. But heard the side buttons and scroll wheel are the same. Which are two massive negatives that they refuse to listen to user feedback about. The scroll wheel to me on my GPX 2 is so bad I can't even use it for competitive games. Ruining the entire mouse for me (and I don't even use my scroll wheel all that often). Overall, I think Logitech has ceased to be relevant. They went too long on their past successes. Continue to fail to innovate or do anything interesting. Are charging premium prices for specs that are mid-tier these days ($80 - $100). The feel of their mice and products is meh (clicks, side buttons, scroll wheel). That this is too little too late. And at this point I'm not longer recommending any Logitech mice. As they aren't worth it. Additionally, they have a bunch of old mouse shapes that people love that are running on very old tech. Why they don't refresh those lines with updated internals and weight loss blows my mind. As that is a gold mine.

In your opinion and experience, would you choose a Razer Viper V2 Pro or the GPX2? I currently have a GPX and am thinking about upgrading, but I'm undecided between these two models.

Personally, I would pick the Viper V2 Pro. As it has a much better sensor, supports up to 8,000 Hz, optical switches (that I think are quieter than the GPX 2, better quality, and feel better), better scroll wheel, better side buttons, better PTFE feet, better firmware/software (in the sense of latency and all that), also actually prefer Razer Synapse over Logitech G Hub, and battery life is going to be similar between the two. The only negatives are that the shape of the Viper is hit or miss with people as Logitech has a safer more well-liked shape. And you can store the wireless transmitter in the mouse. The Deathadder V3 Pro has the same specs as the Viper V2 Pro just a different shape that I think more people enjoy.

@@ThomasMuehler My first "Gamer" mouse was a Deathadder, which always pleased me with the shape and the grip itself, which I exchanged about 3 to 4 years ago for the GPX, at first it made me feel strange with the difference in size and grip. , because I have a relatively large hand, but nowadays I'm totally used to it. I really liked your video and you give feedback from someone who will use it as a regular consumer, without having so many technical details and more the feeling that it will give when used, which also made me think about returning to Razer. However, as they are more expensive products, especially in Brazil, I end up feeling a little insecure about going back to a mouse with a shape that I haven't used for a long time like the DA V3, so I might end up opting for the Viper V3. @@AlexEstefano1 The Deathadder shape did change with the latest generation (Deathadder V3 Pro). It is a bit smaller. I prefer this new shape over the old shape. But since shape is personal preference not sure how that would translate to your and your big hands. Totally understand the hesitancy of trying something new with prices so high! Honestly, all of the mice mentioned are excellent. You can’t go wrong with any of them. With all of them we are really down to splitting hairs and I think you’d be happy with any of them. Appreciate the constructive criticism as well! Thanks for taking the time to share. Also, forgot that the coating on the Razer mice feel more like PBT plastic. Which some say is slippery. Compared to the GPX being more rubbery.

I think it depends on the sale you can find on the GPX and what you are looking for in a mouse. I would only go with the GPX2 if you can't find a good deal on the GPX. If you are hardcore into having the latest and greatest. If you are someone who prefers to future proof. If you are into USB-C. If you don't want switches that could develop a double click. Personally, I'd go with the GPX2. As I think there is enough to justify the increase in price. Especially, if that difference is only $30. But it were a bit greater than that then it would make it harder.

Easy question, hard to answer. Yes, your scroll wheel could be damaged. But I'm not sure it is. Which is where it gets a bit complicated. 1. All scroll wheels have encoders. These encoders all have different feel. A bunch of stuff goes into how these feel. Some of them are supposed to be light, with non-defined steps. Others, heavy with very defined steps. With others some mixture of the two. 2. Logitech for their GPX tends to be light with lightly-defined steps. Which to me is it working as normal. But since I can't feel it for myself I can't tell you if your scroll wheel is within normal limits or defective. 3. Usually, when a wheel is defective it isn't a feel thing (unless you get serious grinding or something that is pretty obvious isn't supposed to be happening). But moreso the encoder either not registering when you scroll, scrolling too much, too little, or going up then down when you are only scrolling in a single direction. Which can also be from dust/debris. so blowing on it can sometimes fix the issue. But my guess is that your scroll wheel probably isn't defective. It just isn't your cup of tea (from a feel standpoint). Which is similar to me. I don't like the scroll wheel on the GPX at all.

I own both. The optical clicks on the superlight 2 are the best implementation that I've seen. They actually feel more tactile than the true mechanical clicks on the superlight 1. I hated the mushy optical clicks on the OG Viper so much that I swore I would never use them again, but the superlight 2 has converted me.

That is fair enough. It took me a while to get used to optical switches. But the Viper V3 Pro is the best optical implementation I've tried. As it feels and sounds great. I'm still not the biggest fan of GPX 2 optical switch feel.

I think that really comes down to personal preference. I'm not sure how hardcore you are about gaming and having the latest and greatest or how much expendable income you have. The GPX 2 is superior. And the better mouse. But for $50 I'm not sure it is THAT much better. For me I always want the latest and greatest and didn't like a lot of the things about the GPX 1 that made the GPX 2 worth it for me. If you are similar to me in that then the GPX 2. If you don't care to have the latest and greatest, aren't super hardcore about gaming (as in always min maxing and going for the best ranks possible) and just play games casually and to have fun the GPX 1 is going to do be excellent. Even if you are trying to climb those leaderboards the GPX 1 is still a great mouse. With Black Friday here I'd imagine some good deals will be happening (if in US). Also, don't forget to use creator codes if ordering directly from logitech (like Shroud). As that will give you a discount.

Question 1. What bamboozled you? They didn't even make it look different. They didn't even put a "2" on it. I don't see how you were misled. I read the same words, "Logitech G PRO X Superlight 2", but expected nothing more than the refresh that the specs show. They improved almost everything, so with your USB port reaction in mind, What kind of change were you expecting? Maybe Apple style BS marketing in general has affected your assumptions about "ProductName x+1" even if the specs say otherwise. If we cry wolf like this, then there's nothing but noise when corporations do things that are actually dishonest (we're not exactly short, there) DISCLAIMER: Question 2 is a follow-up to question 1, does not revolutionize question asking, and contains no prophecies, unfathomable insight, or great revelations from the beyond. It doesn't even have a 2 on it.

Nothing actually bamboozled me. It was a joke that was pointing the finger at Logitech for their complete lack of innovation with their flagship product. Ironically, I think you kind of answer your own question there. They don't look different. They didn't put a 2 on it. They used the same exact paint job. Outside of the internal specs and PTFE feet shape there is literally no difference externally. The bump in specs is also so minimal that your average user probably won't even notice a difference between the two. And there are a ton of people who are buying the product and either getting the wrong one delivered to them (because the box is essentially the same as well) or grabbing the wrong one in stores because they aren't looking closely enough. A strong argument could be made that this is nothing more than a flip and cash grab. While this is highly profitable, it is shady, and shouldn't be encouraged. If you deep dive the exact changes, internal of the shell is different and been rebuilt from the ground up to be the same shape. Which is impressive. And yes, is technically completely different (sensor, motherboard, etc.). But very few users are going to investigate a product enough to know that. And instead, will just go with what they can physically see and feel. With the appearance and performance being essentially a wash for most users they are going to be left saying they feel bamboozled. Hence why I said it. What kind of change were you expecting? I was not expecting the shape or size to change. As it is fantastic. It would have been nice to get unique colorways outside of the same tried colors of black, white, and pink. Or at least some change in the paint job that makes it look different than the 1. Maybe a new coating or something, like most other products on the market that separate gen 1 from gen 2. But accept the argument that the coating is a favorite and therefore shouldn’t change. I wanted USB-C (check). Optical Switches (check). Improved side buttons as that has been a main complaint. Maybe even adding the right-side buttons back for left-handed users. Improved scroll wheel as that was mid on the GPX 1 as well. This one seems worse. Was expecting a better improvement with the sensor/performance, minimum of 4,000 Hz, ideally 8,000 Hz. As the HERO sensor's performance is no longer impressive compared to most of the competition. The HERO 2 is improved but not enough to make it flagship and is still just higher end. Along with some kind of innovation from the other GIANT in the industry. As they haven't released anything of note for years, are due, and this is their flagship mouse. But instead they shaved 2 grams, put a minimal sensor upgrade, switched to their hybrid optical switches, and put USB-C and called it a day. Which is a refresh. Not a new mouse. I get that technically they rebuilt it from the ground up because I’m an enthusiast. Which sounds like a lot of work for the result to be so minimal. But even as an enthusiast I’m disappointed. So, it should be a GPX Superlight 1.5. Or Superlight Pro. As there isn't enough of a change to justify a "2". In general, most people agree with me on that as well. Where most users are opting to buy the Superlight over the Superlight 2 as the price increase isn't worth the trade. Your statements are confusing to me. As you complain about Apple style marketing with minimal changes. Have another product with minimal changes and then claim that I'm crying wolf. Or I completely missed your point which is my bad. Also, with your disclaimer and generalized tone I can't tell if you're trolling or not. But I do agree. That we need to keep companies accountable. Especially, when they do dishonest things. And if we complain about things that aren't important it creates a smokescreen. I just think this is a more in the dishonest category than you do. But in the end people vote with their wallets. If a company makes a bunch of money, then they will keep doing whatever that thing is. Whether it be honest or dishonest. As companies are only as moral as the people running them. No, I haven’t had a double click occur on my GPX or GPW. The GPX 2 has optical switches so theoretically can’t get double clicks. I say theoretically as it has mechanical parts as they are more of a “hybrid” switch. The occurrence of double clicks appears to have decreased with the new switch implementation and is back into the normal “defective” range from what I’ve seen (which is limited). But double clicks are a defect, but can occur on any mechanical switch. May also occur based on a lot of other things that can make the defect more likely to occur (humidity, cleanliness, type of switch, etc.)

I never use wireless mouse since I somehow use it just for work (MX Anywhere 3) but prefer wired for gaming. This time I will try GPX2 because I never had GPX before. Still happy with my G102 because somehow it's been 3 years and no issues were found and never claim but this time I will put it as my second mouse. Yes I saw many other brand that might be definitely better but as someone who stick to this brand because of my first impression on G102 and MX Anywhere I will stick to this for a while. I somehow managed to get GPX2 with around 107$ so it's a reasonable price for me. Will see if there's any issue that could make me change my mind.

MX series is mostly for work and G102 or gaming series is as its name so there will be 2 different perspective for me. MX Anywhere 3 the shape and size is fit for my hand but for those who has big hand might not fit for this. It works better with Logi Options+ (gaming series will be Logi G Hub or something) and this software allows you to config your mouse to match your preference. The part I like for MX Anywhere is it works on both Windows and Mac and since I work with Mac I feel like this is awesome because Mac has lots of gesture that normal mouse cannot handle but MX will solve this issue. Also it allows to switch between 3 different devices as well as setup so it is very convenient and I really love this. The only bad part is the switch that even you use it carefully it will still last for 1-2 years and you will start facing with double click problem.

G102 is the first and only mouse that I personally use for more than 3 years. I would say that maybe I'm lucky to get the one with very high durability but that doesn't mean the others will be the same. One of my friend facing double click problem (maybe Omron common issue) after using for 1.5 years. The shape and size is perfectly fit my hand and yes as I mentioned I have small hand so bigger hand might feel not comfortable with this. The weight is somehow lighter than MX maybe because it is a budget series but that is not an issue for me. I'm not that competitive player so with this mouse is enough for me. Overall it is a choice that for me I think you never go wrong with this but if you have more budget then yes I think other series will definitely better than this. Considering its price I got it for less than 20$ and the performance I think this is awesome if you are not someone who prefer wireless or lots of options/configuration to the mouse.

That is up to you. I still think for the price that you can find better mice (Such as the Viper V3 Pro). But if you really like the shape then you can stick with the GPX. So, I'm not a mousepad guy. That is one of the few rabbit holes I have not gone down. Making me not a good one to ask. From the minimal testing that I've done (again not an expert) I don't see a big difference with the different mousepads I've tried. Mostly, I've seen a difference in how "slick" a mouse pad is. Along with materials and it having stitching on the ends. Making it so most of this is cosmetic. Which isn't to say there isn't more depth. I just am not sure how much this actually matters big picture. But again, not a rabbit hole I've explored fully. Personally, I would buy the Superlight 2. Then down the line buy a higher end mousepad like Zowie GSR. As I think long-term that is the best cost-to-benefit ratio.

Yes. 1. Need third party feet. 2. Scroll wheel is the same. Which sucks. 3. Buttons while being optical are louder. Don't feel as crisp. But no double click. 4. Sensor is better. Performs better. And still one of the best performing mice and I think slightly faster than the GPX 1. Also, they came out with the 4,000 hz now. I haven't had much time to test it though. 5. USB-C is very nice. 6. I may have mentioned some other things in the video. But with time those are the main things I remember from it. So, I still think for most people the upgrade is not worth it. If your mouse breaks I would get the 2 at that point. Along with if you could sell your GPX1 it may be worth the upgrade then. Or finally, if you are like me and just like having the latest and greatest and tend to be able to convince yourself you made the right decision there are enough things here that you'd probably be OK with that. But if you are not one of those idiots (like myself) then you'd probably say it was a stupid decision.

Well if I can say Razer then you're just going to have to live with second best. As they are currently the best in the market in all metrics. Logitech with the GPX and GPX2 are still solid contenders but more upper-tier. Lamzu, Pulsar, Endgame are others that are doing great work. Asus is an underdog that has great products as well that I don't hear from much but have great products. The latest Finalmouse Ultralight X is actually good. The best they've made. Competes in the upper areas. But continues to have a meh scroll wheel and some QA issues. 8,000 hz has yet to be supported. In the end there is definitely a lot of good mice out there these days at varying price ranges. That honestly you can't really go wrong with most of them. As at a certain point you start splitting hairs. Depending on how hardcore you are or how good you are at aiming the diminishing returns can set in fast.

Except for the occasional RMA. Which is equal with every other company I've ever dealt with. So don't find anything abnormal in that aspect. But have heard others have a lot of issues with them. So your complaints are not falling on deaf ears. I'm definitely taking note of it. Additionally, around 2 - 3 years ago Razer stepped up their game a lot with their peripherals which is mostly when I started using them. Prior to that they had very questionable QA. I used the OG grip tape it came with. Not recommended for people with hot hands. I guess i melted the glue adhesive over time just using it. It became like jello and wouldn't stay on the mouse. Had to clean it off with goo gone and alcohol to finally get all the sticky adhesive off. Also if you're getting this might as well get the one you can get glass skates for. Its the only thing that makes this mouse worth it. The plastic feet just ruin how smooth it can be.

In my review I talk about a lot of other alternatives. Such as: - Razer Viper V2 Pro - Deathadder V3 Pro - Razer Cobra Pro - Lamzu (company heard good things) - Endgame (company heard good things) But I do think this is a solid option that you can't go wrong with. I do think that Razer Mice are the penical of performance right now. Shapes/Coating tend to be highly subjective from them. Where Logitech tends to nail shape/coating/overall feel.

Good question. I get A LOT of comments on how their Logitech mice have developed double clicks. It is always a risk of mechanical switches. Also, geographical/climate are contributing factors making it better/worse. If you have concerns with that I would recommend going with the new one since it has hybrid optical switches where that shouldn't happen. Personally, I prefer optical switches. As won't develop double clicks and are faster. But tend to be louder and not feel as crisp as less moving parts (which is what makes them more robust). So there are trades. But I'm willing to take those trades for the benefits but that varies from person to person. I think it also depends on the price difference. Where if you can buy two of OG Superlight for 1 of the Superlight 2. I think they come with a 2 year warranty. Double clicks would be covered under warranty (assuming you live somewhere that accepts the warranty). That would give you four years of coverage for the same price. But the GPX 2 also has slightly better specs which may also help with your decision making. But again, this is all personal opinion with your own pros/cons list.

But I think the reason why I didn't notice a big difference between the GPX 1 and GPX 2 sensor is because I'm lucky enough to be in a position where I've tried a better product (the Focus Pro) so it changes my bar of expectation. And anything behind that bar won't be as exciting to me as someone who hasn't experienced that. If that makes sense. I definitely enjoy the GPX 2 more than the GPX 1. It continues to be on my desk and will continue to be there for some time. But if I'm wanting to be competitive I'm reaching for the Viper V2 Pro or Viper Mini SE.

You make a good point. That I agree with. Normally, your position would be the exact position I would take. For example MacBook's year to year. However, with this particular product I was expecting more. Mostly, because it has been years since the last update. This is the single greatest gaming mouse that has probably ever released (from a success and wide use standpoint). And that they have fallen dramatically behind compared to the competition. Not sure if you follow golf. But Tiger Woods was incredible in his prime. Just destroying the competition. Then he got injured and other stuff happened. His performance dropped. Others took his place. Then he came back and people wanted him to take that top spot again. The same thing with the Logitech G Pro Superlight. Great (OG release) -> very good (after time) -> very good (GPX2) when I think people wanted great.

Honestly, if you are still enjoying yours and there isn't anything that you feel is holding back your performance then there is no reason to upgrade. As the chase for the "next best thing" never ends. With that said, I do think there has been several changes since the G603 launched. You have better sensors, higher polling rate, lighter mice, better battery life (for the mice that have rechargeable batteries as the sensors are more accurate while using less energy), USB-C charging, perhaps lower latency firmware (as I think the G603 performs rather good in that aspect). But honestly after testing a bunch of different mice. They are all essentially the same and my performance from one to the other is essentially the same. Outside of some outliers that are just knocking everything out of the park.

I just switched from a Razer Death Adder V3 Pro because the scroll wheel click died on me. It always does with Razer products and i'm trying Logitech again after many years of Razer, Corsair, Steel Series etc. I love the Razer DA shape, the superlight is still very good though. What I do notice right out of the gate though is the scroll wheel is infinitely better on the Logi mouse. I have a DA V2 (wired), V3 Pro (wireless), Ouroboros and both death adders scroll wheels were squeaky right from the start. But they also stopped taking middle clicks after around a year mark each. The Corsairs died after only a handful of months but thankfully they weren't as expensive.

WHAT?! You think the Logitech scroll wheel is infinitely better? (I'm saying that in a playful tone but you can't actually tell that via text). I find that very interesting as I very much disagree. I can't stand Logitech scroll wheels. The feel terrible to me and are very inconsistent where I cannot rely on them in game (well for the GPX at least all versions include the GPW). But that's the wonderful thing about gaming mice. And what also makes it so hard for manufacturers is so much of it is personal preference. I also find it interesting that you're saying that all your Razer mice wheels have died. As I hear that as a complaint for Logitech mice far more often than I do for Razer in my comment section. Especially, with the GPX. But obviously you have a lot of experience so I'm by no means doubting your position. Glad the Logitech is working well for you. By squeaky what exactly do you mean? Like louder in one direction than the other? Or like literally like a squeaky wheel? And you say your middle click breaks? So it just doesn't register or you lose mobility? I just don't think I've heard of a middle mouse click breaking all that often either.

@@ThomasMuehler so I just got the GPX a week ago I don't know if it will last longer but first impressions are good. As far as the squeaky goes it is audibly squeaky when scrolling up on both the v2 and v3 pro, it's obnoxiously loud and was that way from the jump on both not something that started months later, I have read several people reporting this as common. The middle mouse click outright stops working without using a ton of force on it to the point it feels like I will break my mouse. I use my mice not only for gaming but at work where I'm a data center engineer. I use the scroll wheel click all the time as it opens new instances of applications from the task bar or new tabs in a browser. They work fine for a while and after several months they just die. I'm not saying the Logitech will fare better long term, the last mice I used of theirs as a primary device would go way back to the G5/518 days. I'm very hard on my mice and I will acknowledge that but it's just a shame that it consistently is the scroll wheel that fails. The Corsair mice were by far the worst though in terms of reliability. I should also add that I forgot that I had a naga trinity that started to show those symptoms as well I just gave it to someone else who doesn't use the click and plays MMOs lol

@@Acroanidd That is very interesting. A legit squeak. Gotta say I’ve never experienced that before. I know certain climates do affect peripherals differently. Wondering if that has some type of contribution here. I use my middle mouse button a lot more during browsing then I think I do gaming. But you would also think premium price, premium products, made for intense usage should last a long time. Unless if you’re like crazy aggressive with your amount of pressure all the time. These products (in my opinion) are made to be used aggressively. Granted, the switches themselves tend to be the same in nearly all mice no matter the price. You’re more paying for sensor, latency, shape, lightweight, etc. Have you done research into the different types of encoders (which are the fancy name for middle click and scroll wheels. I think). I know some marketing focuses in on that. One that comes to mind is Lamzu? I may be getting their primary clicks confused. But TTC comes to mind too. It’s been a minute since I actually looked into those. But I’m wondering if a particular mouse kind of how they “bin” switches would also “bin” scroll wheel to prevent them from failing? In the same vein, have you ever tried a more robust wheel during the work day (such as Razer Basilisk V3 Pro or Logitech G502)? I’m just wondering with them being heavier if they have more reinforcement in them. Last, have you looked into possible ability to just replace the scroll wheel (or take apart ones that don’t work) and see if you can just fix or swap out that part instead of having to buy a new mouse every time? I guess the other alternative too would that I hope you’re taking advantage of (assuming you live in the right place) is warranties. As this would be covered under those. Probably not telling you anything you haven’t thought of yourself already. But you’ve got me all curious and so you get a wall of text. lol. Sorry about that.

So to keep it simple I haven't gone down the rabbit hole of looking up wheel manufacturers yet, I was going to if and when the GPX acts up. I was just feeling like giving Logitech another go since it's been close to 10+ years since I last tried them. As far as warranty is concerned unfortunately this stuff is considered normal wear and tear and typically isn't covered because they will argue it's not a defect, I've been down this rabbit hole a lot with computer repair stuff in the past I've tried a couple times and get nowhere. As far as repair I've done most things I can comfortably do but unfortunately a lot of these mice don't really come apart for repair to well much less get put back together lol. Now the whole idea of two mice has kicked up in my brain one for gaming and the other for productivity but it's really, really hard to use a heavy mouse after using these light weight slippy skated mice. I actually damn near bought a Logi MX Master instead of the GPX because I feel like if there's anything going to last a while it would be that... That was until I felt the floor model the weight of it would drive me nuts. I totally get this is a me problem (aside from the squeaks) and my love of these high end low weight gaming mice may need to change for my work day, but can you blame me? 😂 Cheers

Welcome to the family! I'm glad you are here. The Viper 8K will have better performance (sensor and overall latency due to wired, higher polling rate, and optical switches. Arguably firmware). As the internals are slightly better. However, with it being wired I think it takes away some of the magic. But as with everything there is a trade. Those trades may be worth more or less depending on your own personal preferences. Shape can be quite hit or miss. Most people think the GPX clicks feel better (I personally think they are very close. But Vipers are louder). But the Viper's are optical which means they are immune to double clicks which is probably the main issue with the GPX. I also think Razer's optical switches are the best optical on the market (both feeling and performance wise). PTFE are better. Cost is better. Especially, looking holistically (at the whole mouse for what you pay). As for 4,000 and 8,000 Hz it uses more CPU. If your system isn't strong this could have negative side effects. Sometimes can cause frame drops (I haven't seen lately with older windows 11 update). Along with if you don't have high frames and high refresh monitor you may not see the benefits of higher polling rate anyways. As that is computer dependent (high-end system) paired with high level of aim skill paired with being sensitive to latency. Hot debate on the internet if higher polling rate is a gimmick or not. I don't think it is. But I'd go with the GPX. Safe shape, great performance, wireless, can find on sale (probably) with the GPX2 being out. Just feels a bit more high quality in the hand even if the performance isn't as good. Depending on level of skill you may not see a difference in performance. I think it weighs less which does make a difference in performance as well which may make it equal from a subjective standpoint. Still one of the most popular mice on the market. Costs more. Need third party feet as their PTFE is trash. Arguably some will say Logitech software is better than Razer. I disagree as I find it to perform better (less resources, boots faster, but is harder to navigate. Where Razer's is way easier to navigate but takes more resources, and sometimes doesn't boot fast and gets hung up). Scroll wheel is better on Viper. Side buttons are going to be a wash. I'm adopted so I have no idea about my roots. I've always thought more Irish. As I'm White AF to the point I'm reflective in the sun and I have a reddish tint to my hair/beard. But your guess is as good as mine. I could also be German!

OG is my favourite mouse but the scroll is absolute garbage, it scrolls wherever it wants and plenty of people have the exact same problem. Hope they changed the whole thing inside to something that works.

My first one (the one in this video) had some problems. Where while it didn't randomly scroll it didn't necessarily stick well between steps which made it hard to be accurate with in game. Middle click was also bad. But returned that one. The pink one is dramatically improved. Where I haven't had issues. But also, have never had issues with scroll wheels really. Outside of that black version and Finalmouse. It does feel different than the OG. But not sure how much they changed it.

I'd look at Pulsar and Lamzu as they do a good job for the price point and are right around that $80 - $100. Asus has some good products as well that you should be able to get around that price on sale. Palm grip tends to be a bit harder as most FPS mice are made for claw/fingertip and medium-ish in size (over large). If you can find the Razer Deathadder V3 Pro on sale that would be my number 1 pick. But is $150 retail so out of your budget. I enjoyed the Lamzu Atlantis a lot. And depending on size of hand would work for palm. The GPX1 could be on sale and would work. Again, depends on hand size as may be too small. And would be a good option. I enjoyed the Corsair Sabre Pro Wireless. As that is good for palm and I enjoyed it a lot. And that is all of them that I can think of off the top of my head.

I’ve had two G Pro Superlights, and both had double-click issues after a year of usage. Before the Superlights, I had a G502 Hero and a Glorious Model D, and they both also had the same issue. Now, I’m so frustrated with double-click issues that I’ve stopped gaming.

@@nuzzky Unfortunately, I tend to focus on the top-end mice. So, I don't have a lot of knowledge to pull from when it comes to budget mice. I think all of the Razer "pro line" of mice have been optical for a long time. They have slowly improved in time with each generation. If you were to buy an OG Viper or the Viper V2 Pro you could probably get it quite cheap ($60 - $80). Or if you wait for a sale you could probably get one of their modern flagships (I think the Viper V3 Pro is the best mouse on the market right now) for an acceptable price. But probably more than you would want. As I'd imagine closer to the 100 if on a great sale but closer to 120 - 130 mark. Neither are "budget" category. All the other mice that I can think of off the top of my head are either not very good, use mechanical, or have strange shapes. And again "budget" mice are my specialty. Because I'm a moron who tends to buy the expensive things.

I think it really depends on how hardcore of a gamer you are. 1. If you are a causal player. By that I mean you aren't trying to be in the top 1% of aimers, aren't trying to reach the very top of gaming charts, in general may play competitive games but for the enjoyment of those games and enjoy ranking up even if you are in the top percentiles. Like say Gold or Platinum. But also play a bunch of other games. And in general spend more time on your computer using it as a computer over gaming. Then the difference between the two is not worth the price difference. 2. Again, if you are causal but also one of those people who like to future proof everything you buy. Or in general like to have the "best of the best" then buying the upgraded variant is worth it. 3. If you are a try hard competitive gamer and/or like to be on the cutting edge. Or have a specific thing you dislike about the old mouse (Micro-USB or Mechanical switches) then you should buy the upgraded one.

I think you are right on both accounts. I think in general mice are in a pretty fantastic spot right now. Where I'm not sure how much better they can get. Outside of 100% accuracy and higher polling rates to reduce latency even more. Maybe even a switch that feels fantastic but isn't loud while being highly reliable and immune to double clicks. And then just shape/materials (which is more a lateral move than an upgrade). But I think that Logitech certainly could have done better from the spec department. But think Logitech is also banking on people keep buying so why try hard to innovate when what we are doing is making us TONS of money and we continue to have one of the best selling (if not THE BEST selling) mouse on the market? That a lot of people also mistakenly say is the best mouse on the market. And I think with most consumers not having two ultra expensive mice (Say Viper V2 Pro and GPX 2) they don't know what they are missing so this 'upgrade' feels like a bigger upgrade than to someone who has a V2 Pro or other better performing mouse. It's kind of like an average joe comparing a Lamborghini and a Mclaren. They are both supercars and going to outclass nearly everything on the road. While there are going to be people who know the difference and feel it, they'll probably be a minority.

@@ThomasMuehler Internals aside; If someone made me pick one I'd go with the U2 over the GPX. The shape is odd at first, but feels more comfortable over time. All the buttons feel better, like the side buttons are a huge step up in quality even M1, and M2 feel more solid. The scroll wheel is a tad loud, but feels way more responsive. The only odd part is that I get a TINY bit of side flex out of the U2 where the GPX has none. Barely noticeable unless you're looking for it, but still there. Took me a while to respond cause I was waiting for it to actually ship, and I wanted to actually use it before responding.

I think both of them are excellent mice. My first gut reaction was yes. But upon further pondering I still think yes but with some asterisks *. 1. Sensor. 5G sensor vs HERO 2 is going to be very similar. I almost want to lean 5G is slightly better. But honestly don't have any real evidence to support that. 2. Clicks are highly subjective in feel. But I think the GPX 2 is going to be more crisp. Also, optical which means they are superior from a tech/latency standpoint. 3. Side buttons are a wash. 4. Shape is going to be subjective again. But GPX2 is one of the most safe and best shapes on the market. But is a larger mouse. 5. Battery life and weight will be better with the GPX 2. But this comes down to what battery you are using on how big a difference this is. 6. Scroll wheel. Been a while since I tried my Orochi. But I think similar again. 7. 2,000 Hz over 1,000 Hz. I think this is a very small. But can be noticeable bump in feel. But essentially inconsequential. Where I'd argue 4,000 and 8,000 is a more significant and noticeable bump. Conclusion: The biggest difference will be shape/size and click feel. I think most of the other stuff will be essentially a wash. As I can't think of anything that really separates the two outside of shape/size/weight/click feel. Whereas, with the Viper V2 Pro/Deathadder V3 Pro. Again shape/size/weight difference. But you get 4,000 Hz (with additional purchase), much better sensor, better battery life, optical switches as well, and more adjustable LOD settings. I forgot weight balancing for all three mice will be better.

Optical switches will always be faster than mechanical. As light is faster and they practically have no debounce delay (technically there is one because there has to be but it is insignificant). However, is that noticeable in game? No. I know some people have done some testing and it showed them being a bit faster. I don't remember the exact number but probably like 1 - 2 ms. Optical switches are also more robust and won't double click. But from a latency standpoint it isn't going to be something that makes a significant difference.

Hey Thomas, I thought I heard you mention something about the hero sensor feeling floaty to you and that the hero 2 is no different? Can you please expand on that? I’m asking because I used to think the same thing for a very long time, especially when I try faster flicks. But now I really swear by hero. I mean I’m more confident with it overall, even though I do perform better on precise long ranged tracking with the da v3 pro. But it’s this difference that’s odd to me- I cannot objectively find any fault with the hero vs 3395. Mouse tester graphs are almost the, same, just a bit more variance with hero wireless count scatter. So let me know why you think the hero feels floaty because you’re the only other person I know who felt this way apart from me.

I wrote a book. I’m sorry. I tried to shorten it. But failed. I added titles so you can skip around. Lol Great question. I continue to find the HERO sensor to feel icky. I find the HERO 2 to feel a lot better. But still significantly behind the Focus+/Focus Pro. And I specifically, mean those two sensors from Razer with their firmware/software. As the hardware implementation paired with software/firmware makes a big difference. BEFORE GETTING IN GAME: I have a hard time quantifying how big of a difference I feel between the HERO and HERO 2 as I was expecting (from the other Titan of the industry) equal if not better performance than their main competitor. But since it is performing worse I mark it up as being irrelevant (not really, that is a bit of hyperbole, but gets my point across). So, I think that colors my opinion on it as well. Where perhaps I'm being more judgmental on it. So, if I disliked the HERO, the HERO 2 isn’t better than the Focus Pro, then why care about it? Granted the more I use the GPX 2 the more I like it. But I'd argue the difference between the Focus+ and Focus Pro is hard to fully feel as well. But I think is easier to feel (whether it be placebo or not) as you can see a bigger jump in specs along with software differences that make it feel more worthy. For example, the HERO/HERO 2 you get more DPI, 2,000 hz, and low/medium/high LOD, and the rest of the specs (that I think matter more) are either not mentioned (such as resolution accuracy which was 98% on the HERO) or minimal upgrades (400 -> 500 IPS). None of which is unique at this point in the game. Whereas, with the Focus+/Pro I see higher DPI, higher resolution accuracy, higher IPS, and higher G's. Plus has other features such as motion sync, asymmetric cut-off, and something else (that I'm failing to pull off the top of my head). Along with in the software (with the separate dongle) I see 4,000 Hz, higher DPI, and in the Lift-Off/Landing I see two bars that have a ton more customization options. Which has helped a lot when I was doing a mod on another mouse and the sensor wasn't tracking at lower LOD due to sensor being higher up in the shell. But due to the highly adjustable LOD I was able to dial that in to still have very low LOD with full performance. Which would have been impossible with the HERO/HERO 2 (or at least to be as exact, think the story of Goldilocks). OBJECTIVE MEASURES COLORING OPINION: Okay, so what does this all have to do with feel? I have objective measures (before even getting in game) of seeing a difference between the two. Which already leaves a good impression in my mind and makes me go in expecting more from one of the sensors (Focus Pro) over the HERO 2. I try to stay as objective as I can still. But would argue that the HERO 2 may have a better shot since I am going in with low expectations if it performs excellently it should be an easy win. Whereas, with the Focus Pro I am expecting perfection and anything else will disappoint me. But both lived up to expectations. Which I’ll go more into in a bit. Additionally, based on graphs from people who have way cooler tech than me, the overall latency of Razer mice compared to Logitech mice are faster and tighter (as you mentioned). Which is another objective standard to backup some of my initial thoughts. You mentioned more variance with the HERO. That variance can be felt in game as it is increasing latency, increase variability, and decreased consistency. While many would argue you can't feel that. I disagree. As I think humans are incredibly complex and amazing creatures and that we are more perceptive than we think we are. Especially, with training, the right gear, and/or priming. HOW THE SENSORS FEEL IN GAME: So with all that out of the way, what does it actually feel like in game? Every time I use the Focus+/Focus Pro I'm amazed at how everything just "sticks" and feels like an extension of my arm. I flick and I'm right where I need to be, if I do need to micro adjust the sensor immediately moves to that pixel that I want. When tracking I stick on my opponent (like I have auto aim) and can outline things with ease. Everything feels effortless and I can focus on everything else in game to perform well (position, where people are, movement, etc.) Whereas, when I am using the HERO I feel like instead of just doing my thing, I'm constantly fighting the sensor trying to control it and do what I want it to do, which makes other parts of my game struggle as my focus is elsewhere. Making me hyper aware of the mouse in my hand and what it isn’t doing, instead of my performance in game making it feel floaty and inaccurate. Moving onto the HERO 2 this feeling is improved. Where I rarely feel like I'm fighting the sensor and am able to focus on the game. Which I think is actually a big deal and me typing that I think gave me some clarification for my review. So thanks for that! But it doesn't feel like it is an extension of my arm still. As when I flick, I still have to micro adjust to be right on semi-regularly, and when I go to micro adjust sometimes the mouse will fight me and either not move or move to much making me miss the pixel I want and I will miss my shot. Also, when I'm tracking I go on/off my feeling of being "stuck" to a target. Where there will be times I absolutely beam people, but then other times it feels like I just can't get on target and am just slightly behind where I want to be. In general I have to focus and try a lot more to perform at the same level. Where with the Focus Pro aim is just effortless all the time and find when my aim is off on the Focus Pro it is because my form is poor which is causing me to have reduced ROM and once I fix that my aim is back on point. Where with the HERO 2 I'm constantly watching my form and in the right position but still feeling "off". Even though I enjoy the GPX shape a lot. CONFIDENCE PLAYS A BIG PART: Now with that said, and you alluded to, there are also times that mentally I WANT/NEED to use "X Product" Such as the GPX. And because of that overwhelming want/need I will perform better with that product for that day. And even then, sometimes (such as with the Finalmouse Starlight 12) despite me REALLY wanting it to be awesome due to the piss poor performance I have to bench it. So I think you feeling more confident with the GPX can color your opinion sometimes as well to make you better with a product. Even if objectively it is inferior spec wise. This can also be due to a bunch of different reasons (shape, size, weight, etc.) that can even a playing field as well which I don't want to get into. Point being, I think confidence in a product makes a huge deal on how you perform with it. That people probably don't mention enough. Another great point for my review (appreciate it!). But final point, despite me being wish-washy about what product I want to use, inevitably (for me) I always find myself performing worse with the GPX over a long period and switching back to Razer (Viper V2 Pro, Viper Mini SE, or Deathadder V3 Pro, or in the past Viper Ultimate/Deathadder V2 Pro) and find my performance is always the best it can be with those mice. With that being consistent over a multitude of mice (as I say the same thing about other Logitech mice) I know the shape/size/weight have nothing to do with it. So it must be something else. I pick sensor but it could be other things. WHAT OTHERS HAVE SAID: Last actual point, and sorry for the book. But I've had a LOT of people in my comment section agree that the HERO sensor feels way worse than the Focus+ which is even more noticeable with the Focus Pro. I've never had anyone (outside of Reddit or have only tried one) say that the HERO sensor feels better than the Focus+/Pro. But have had people say that despite the sensor feeling better that due to the shape/size/weight of the GPX that they perform better and that it is their main due to that. Which I 100% respect. You gotta go with the mouse that you perform the best with, instills the most confidence, and feels the best for you. Screw what the objective measures say. There are plenty of gamers that are nutty with crap mice (from a tech standpoint). As at the end of the day, the mouse doesn't matter. But your skill does. Mice are tools, they won't make you a better gamer, but they can make it easier to perform at your best.

@@ThomasMuehler May I ask what types of FPS you play? I've experienced everything you have mentioned tbh. But the reason I switch even now, though I'm quite sure with my own measurements that the 3950 (focus pro) is better for control, is because of the differences I perceive with longer ranges of motion vs smaller micro adjustments that are used in tactical shooters. I still play a lot of arena shooters, namely quake live/quake champions etc which require, on average, longer mouse movement, and sometimes, short quick rail gun flicks. So the distribution of ranges of motions for each fight is a lot more extensive. And in these scenarios, I find hero more reliable. Not sure why, maybe a slightly laggy sensor might be better for control? Even in OW2 same thing, although if I pick a hero with ranged tracking such as Soldier, I find DA V3 pro way more responsive like you said. I was hoping they'd fix this with the hero 2 and you did mention that they have to some extent so I'm glad for that. Also, the way I measure this (as objectively as I can) is by testing my aim with both mice (over matching sensitivities - accounting for cpi deviation) in certain kovaaks/aim lab scenarios like tile frenzy and 1wall6etargets TE etc. I do these scenarios consistently better with the hero but on tracking scenarios like lgc3reborn etc I consistently do better with the DA v3 pro using it on 2khz. Basically I'm not sure why. Maybe it's just the shape but I have tried comparing apples to apples with mice like g pro hero vs g pro wired (g305 shape), g403 3366 vs g403 hero etc and its the same difference in feel for tracking vs long range flicks. Even though 3366 is different from focus pro, it feels much closer to focus pro than to hero, hence the comparison. Another observation for me is that when I'm playing fps on my brainless autopilot mode and forget to focus on aim, hero feels more intuitive but we can't always be in this frame of mind. With focus pro I can hit much harder but really need to focus on my game. I think maybe the issue with hero is controlling micro adjustments because it feels a bit like rubber-banding (fighting with the cursor as you've said). Hoping 2khz fixes it because I've gone and ordered the superlight 2. Let's see. Forgot to mention- on mouse tester graphs, DA v3 pro shows initial cpi count increases faster on slower motion where as on fast flicks it's almost the same as hero. This might be proof of why you feel it's more responsive. Mouse tester version 1.5.3 with dual devices feature.

Tend to play a plethora of different games. But to list a few (and not all of them are FPS but shooters), Escape From Tarkov, Apex Legends, Call of Duty MWII, The Division, Aimlabs, Dead Space, Halo Infinite, Halo Master Chief Collection, GTAV, PUBG, Cyberpunk 2077, Destiny 2, Fry Cry, CSGO (rarely), Resident Evil, Metro. But I haven't tried heavy tracking centric games such as OW2 or Quake. I don't have a good comment/opinion on slightly laggy sensor being better for control or not. I think something else is at play that I’m just not aware of consciously. The way you objectively test your mice is the same way I do. Where everything is equalized from a look sensitivity standpoint (2.5 rotations in game) and then do a plethora of different Aim Lab scenarios to test flicks, micro adjustments, limited tracking, long tracking, and multiple target scenarios to name a few. As that helps me really feel a difference between them. Along with look at scores for a hopeful more objective measure. And as mentioned, in my experience (which isn't to say it should be everyone’s experience or correct), is that the Razer's sensors score higher than Logitech (HERO or HERO 2) across the board on all scenarios for me. But did see a slight bump with the HERO 2 compared to the HERO. The 3366 and the HERO sensor from my understanding/research are actually the same performance wise. With the HERO being 1. Made by Logitech in house and 2. Being more efficient from a battery/energy standpoint. 3. Also, able to be upgraded a bit more through firmware unlocking higher DPI. I too like the 3366 a lot. It was my favorite sensor before the HERO and Razers 5G sensor. Was recently testing some of my older mice and the 3366 did feel better than the HERO. And I wonder if that is due to the energy management or something. Or just placebo/different shape, size, weight. I think I would also agree at times the HERO/HERO2 feels great for long tracking. And thinking more critically on it, wonder if that is as you say. With the HERO having difficulty with micro adjustments makes tracking smoother because it isn't registering those small abnormalities/twitches as well as the Focus Pro which makes it feel more consistent/better. Whether or not that is actually the case. Definitely looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the HERO vs HERO 2 sensor. And think that you going ahead with the Superlight 2 is a good call. As it sounds like you really enjoy the HERO and Logitech mice/shapes. So it is worthy of at least trying. As for your last point, fascinating! From looking at spec sheets the HERO 2 I think improves that exact thing. Which may be one reason why I’m also feeling an improvement with it over the HERO 1. But otherwise essentially the same. Speaking of the 3366 vs hero, they are complerely different tbh. 3366 is literally the same as the 3360 made by pixart but tuned with logitech and pixart working together. I've literally used 3366 dumped SROMs on a custom made 3360 mouse - using a guide from qsxcv that shows you how to mod the microsoft classic intelli mouse shell with a tindie 3360 board + teensy 2.0. The only difference is one pin position swap on the chip which I accounted for in the code. If you're interested I can send you the files and the guide. And speaking of the mouse tester graphs, in case you want to have a look I can probably e-mail them to you. Maybe doing something from this angle can be a new video for you if enough people show interest. Although, techpowerup does this already, they don't really have many updates on mice regularly. I have gone through 2 superlights at this point both having the same issue at after around 9-12 months of usage the middle mouse button becomes really unresponsive. You click the middle mouse button with a dintincable click and sound but there is no response untill you press down harder. This is probably hella copium but Im praying this mouse maybe has this issue covered for maybe being a mouse that lasts a bit longer than just a year or atleast in my case. (I use middle mouse button alot (:)

I wish I could give you a more concrete answer. I'm hesitant. As I have now tried 2 Superlight 2's (pricing issue that I won't get into). I'm also EXTREMELY early in the testing process. Making it so these thoughts/findings may change. But I've found significant variance between my two models. Limiting it to just the scroll wheel, my first black one was extremely light, meh-distinct steps, and mushy not super accurate middle click (almost borderline defective maybe). Which is the one I was talking about in this review. Got a pink version yesterday. And the scroll wheel is tighter (but not as tight as the OG Superlight) more distinct steps (just right in my opinion) with a solid middle click (much better than my black Superlight 2, lighter pressure, which is more satisfying/accurate to me, but otherwise same as my OG Superlight). It almost seems like my black Superlight 2 is similar to your issue. Where I would worry about possible unresponsiveness after some time has gone by. But the pink Superlight 2 seems peachy. But I've also never had a defective scroll wheel (outside of from Finalmouse, which is borderline of I don't think I can justify an RMA, but isn't normal either). And while I use it all time to open links, close tabs, I rarely use it in games. But am trying to utilize it more.

Do you have the scrolling problem too? Mine got it, it occasionally kick back the scroll direction, maybe due to dust or maybe the scroll design flaw for less wieght. Never have this with my MX master or my good old G700 infinity scroll.

But with it being so light can be a bit difficult to be fully accurate as it is easy to over or under scroll. In comparison to my Viper V2 Pro which has a lot stiffer wheel.@@speed256x

Its kinda link to respond rate on mine. In teh beginning I though its because of dust but I had it cleaned by pros and the problem still there. But when I reduce the respond rate to save battery life while playing Starfield, the scrolling became more accurate. I appreciate the feedback. I'm still trying to find a good balance of how nerdy or not I go. From my side a lot of people don't care about sensor specs as they've already made up their mind that "all sensors are flawless and therefore it doesn't matter." As taken from BadSeed Tech's video. Also, mentioned in Logitech's press brief videos. HERO/HERO 2: DPI: 25,600/32,600 (adjustable in 10 DPI increments. With their software of matching another mouse can go down to 1 DPI) Processing: 28x28/2x28x28 overlap Array Size:32x32/39x30 Spot Position: N/A / Detection by row Conversion: 4 cycles/2 cycles Frame Rate: 16.6 kHz / 25 kHz Speed: >400 IPS / >500 IPS Translation is basically a higher definition picture with a bit more bandwidth to process things faster which makes it more accurate. So, minimal differences. But I do FEEL a difference. However, as mentioned in the video my scores aren't any better (except for tracking). It feels more responsive, less laggy, and a bit more accurate. Especially, at 2,000 Hz. But I have a hard time noticing a big difference as it is still significantly behind the Focus+ and Focus Pro sensor in feel and responsiveness. Which colors my opinion on how big of a jump it is. As the HERO was high-tier, the HERO 2 is still high-tier just a bit higher up. Whereas, the Focus+, Focus Pro, and 3395 is Premium Tier. I was expecting Premium Tier performance from a titan in the industry. But since it isn't I have a hard time judging how big of a jump it is since it is still behind. If that makes sense. But it is HIGHLY consistent, and I have no qualms on using this in highly competitive environments. And if I LOVED the GPX shape and am diehard about it, then upgrading to USB-C, optical switches, improved sensor, and 2,000 Hz is probably justifiable.

Loved the video! I've been recently in the market for a new mouse for gaming since I've had the same wired Razer one for about 2-3 years and was looking for an upgrade. I've heard highly about both of these mice and was also planning on looking outside of Logitech for these type of light wireless mice as well. My favorite mouse is the Razer Viper Mini SE. I don’t recommend you buy as it is crazy expensive and if you don’t like the shape then you’re hosed. But I figure since you said “I’ve got some money to burn” I’d give you all the choices. 1. It would be a tie between the Razer Viper V2 Pro, Razer Deathadder V3 Pro, or Finalmouse Ultralight X. As they are all S-Tier (top of the line) mice and you can’t go wrong with any of them. Not saying they are all perfect. The Viper is quite flat which a lot of people don’t like (mostly claw/fingertip). Then you’ve got the Deathadder V3 Pro that is a great ergo shape. But is ergo which means mostly palm/claw. Also, if you have small hands then it may be too large even though the V3 is smaller. The Ultralight X while it is a continuous product is brand new and been dropping in waves. And takes several months to arrive. Finalmouse also tends to have a TON of QA issues. My Ultralight X is pretty good. I have some side creaking (that I could likely fix if I wanted to take off the PTFE and tighten a screw), also the shell isn’t perfectly flush (which I think more comes down to variance than an actual defect but that’s another conversation). But otherwise I don’t have any problems with it and it is super lightweight. Also, supports 4,000/8,000 Hz. 2. GPX 2 is a solid mouse but I think others are more competitive at the price point as even with the refreshed specs they are in the “high tier” category instead of the “premium tier”. With that said from an objective testing standpoint their results are still in the “premium category” from a latency standpoint. But when I’m using it compared to the others they do technically perform better in objective testing and subjectively to me. But due to the shape I feel like I have to recommend it. As it is one of the most popular gaming mice ever. Again, you can’t go wrong with this choice either. But main complaints I’m seeing from people are the scroll wheel is meh and not super reliable. For example I use it a lot in Escape From Tarkov and I can’t rely on it. Also, the click feel varies a ton and not everybody is a fan of how they feel. 3. Recently had a meeting with Asus. I haven’t tried their mice yet. But they are doing surprisingly awesome things with their peripherals and are very competitive with the best of the best. The Asus ROG Harpe has gotten a lot of positive reviews and would be worth checking out. It is on my list to try out but I haven’t had the pleasure yet. 4. I’ve heard great things about Pulsar and Lamzu. Did try the Lamzu Atlantis (Gen 1) and for the price is a good mouse. I find the firmware (latency) for my Lamzu isnt at the same level as the ones listed above. With all that said I stopped looking at other gaming mice when Razer dropped their latest line (Viper V2 Pro, Cobra Pro, Deathadder V3 Pro, etc.) As every single one of them has been a banger in my opinion. As they come with the best tech on the market (that I’m aware of) and just nailed holistically the feel (solid shape, great primary clicks, side clicks, scroll wheel, PTFE, coating, etc.) that I feel like they are the current leader and I’m not interested in looking at other mice as they have me perfectly satisfied. Also, they have a ton of different options for people so they can find what they are looking for. For example the ones that I mentioned are mostly for FPS (not that they can’t or don’t perform excellently in every other genre). But I use the Basilisk V3 Pro for doing normal work/surfing. Cobra Pro is a cheaper Viper Mini but comes with all the bells and whistles and is a bit heavier due to that. The Viper Mini SE is the best mouse I’ve ever used and I’m a fool who will spend a stupid amount of money for it (also continuous release but with it’s popularity sells out quickly, don’t buy third party).

It is trash. It's the same one. I actually hate it. Because the same thing happens to me as is happening to you. If you end up paying full price for a new one and the price difference isn't insane. I'd still go with the GPX 2. But again depends on price difference and assuming you aren't going through the RMA process.

I went on reddit and found a fix. use a WD40 or any cleaner that doesn't conduct electricity and then spray on the left side of the scroll wheel. there's a video here on youtube on how to do it. it fixed my scroll wheel and feels like brand new. do it on your on risk though. I was willing to buy a new one that's why I tried it. also, thanks for replying!

@@OniiKumaa I appreciate the tip and glad it worked on yours. One of the issues with a lot of scroll wheel encoders is that if dust or debris gets into them that it can cause problems to occur. Usually that is the case for the cheaper encoders that Logitech has been known to use. Despite the price point of their mice which is disappointing. I think my biggest issue isn’t so much it jumping but with it being so light without dedicated steps it can sometimes sit in between a set and then move when I move the mouse causing it to jump. Or just not be as accurate as a lot of others. Which I didn’t explain all that well earlier. My apologies.

Truly want your opinion here and trying to have effective discourse here. As you bring up some very serious concerns to me and I want your full unfiltered opinion. I hope I don’t come off as combative here, as that is not my intention. But did you actually watch the entire video or not make it past the intro? As I’m not sure how you even get this take (bad review, actually used it properly, and not being true to my viewers) from my video where I objectively (as much as possible) break down each aspect of the mouse directly comparing it to the previous mouse, removing opinion as much as possible while still trying to make it entertaining. How am I not being true to my viewers? As I’m missing it. This is a small step, if anything an update, over a whole new mouse. While it may be worth upgrading to, the improvements here are so small, that it will be highly subjective. As it is more a side grade over a true upgrade. Also, and with respect, are you just upset that I disagree with your findings? And you want an echo chamber that helps justify the money you just spent and solidify that this is the best mouse on the market? Yes, I absolutely start the video out click batey (otherwise I can’t compete and even then barely). Trust me, I HATE IT as much as you do. But if you want to play the game you gotta play by their rules. Unless if you’re giant and can influence the entire genre or be successful despite. Which I cannot.

Lots of factual details which are objectively correct. But after using the v2 myself, it was very clear to me the v2 IS an actual big step ahead, so indeed, I don't agree with your statement. Looking at the way you present the mouse in your introduction and also your final thoughts (something I tend to focus on initially when looking at a review) you are making it very clear that you haven't noticed any noticeable differences apart from some changes in the hardware. And that strikes me, because the difference in actual in-game use is really huge to me. If somebody reviews a mouse, I expect that somebody notices those kind of a important differences. If not, I really have my doubts about the quality of the review, and that's what I'm saying here. And you're not only one I have to say, it seems to me everybody is rushing out to be first one to say something about this highly anticipated mouse, without actually having used it properly. To me the v2 is not a small update at all. The biggest and clearest update being the sensor. It might not seem to be a big of an update if you look at the specs, but the new sensor is much better in actual usage. And then you can debate on 'much', since the sensor was already really good, but if you are serious about your mouse (and people watching this are, I assume), the difference is huge. The improved responsiveness is really serious, there is hardly any lag anymore, making it to a far more smooth experience, with more secure movement and less adjustments as a result. I can keep better focus on everything around me in fast moving action. I never realized there was that much leg in the v1 causing this, until I used the v2 to compare. Whether it is the 2000hz polling rate, the new sensor, or both together, I don't know. But once I have used the v2, I don't want to go back to the v1 anymore. And yes, they kept a lot the same, but for a very good reason if you ask me. It's not one of the best sellers ever without a reason. It's not only marketing, it's because lots of people like it the way it is, why change a winning team right, except for technical improvements that matter. Maybe results may vary between hardware, that is something I can't control, but for reference: I use fast m.2 SSD's, AMD 5800x3d with a RTX 4090.

I appreciate your candor and you taking the time to fully reply. Seriously. We clearly disagree on the big step ahead. But I will admit that part of that could be my own personal bias and your own. And part of that could also be the differences of me trying a lot of other mice outside of the G Pro X Superlight and G Pro X Superlight 2 (which is why I think a lot of other reviewers are coming down with similar findings as me over a rushing to get videos out. Which I’m not saying isn’t also playing a part). For example, the Razer Viper V2 Pro, Deathadder V3 Pro, and Viper Mini SE all absolutely demolish the HERO 2 sensor in every aspect both subjectively and objectively (along with overall latency). Perhaps incorrectly (and I’m trying not to) I’m expecting at least that level of performance (if not more) from the other titan of the industry, that came out AFTER those mice. Since it doesn’t feel that way, I’m left disappointed, and I think it is coloring my opinion. I do feel a difference between the HERO 1 vs the HERO 2 that is immediate. I agree it feels more responsive and less lag filled (which as I mentioned I think in this video but perhaps the previous video) was my biggest issues with the OG Superlight. However, it still doesn’t compete with the 3395, Focus+, or Focus Pro sensors which are found in a plethora of mice between $99 - $150. Which brings up the next subject of as a reviewer should I be recommending a mouse that underperforms (sensor and polling rate) compared to the competition for at $10 more? I 100% agree with your statement of someone reviewing a mouse, if they can’t notice a difference, what quality of video/review are they delivering. In fact, that is one of the main reasons why I made this channel, is the disappointment I kept getting when watching reviews. And it saddens me that was your take and I do take that seriously. But another real question is I wonder if your previous OG Superlight was slightly defective if you are noticing that big of a difference (or perhaps the new robust wireless is performing better so you have less interference)? Or if since subjectively (for whatever case) you are performing a lot better with it that is coloring your opinion of other reviews when you may be the exception of how this mouse feels? Or again perhaps my experience is being colored by this underperforming compared to most mice these days, and therefore even if there is a difference it continues to be behind, so I null and void it. I know this was a comparison between the OG Superlight and the Superlight 2 not other mice. I tried my best to not let other mice influence me during this video. Which is why I was using my Aimlabs scores along with the Objective findings from HausGaming. As despite me feeling a difference the transfer to real world seemed negligible to me. Along with the other testing I did. But this is also why I haven’t released my actual review on it yet. As I wanted to test it more before giving my full opinion on it. For the record I spent most of Thursday, Friday evening, all day Saturday and Sunday using this mouse and comparing it to the OG Superlight in a plethora of different games and scenarios. And again, I feel a difference between the two in multiple aspects. But they are small differences. Personally, I agree that I would take this mouse over the old one every time. But I’m also someone who loves the cutting edge and future proofing as much as possible. But if my friend that barely plays games, already thinks >$100 mice are excessive and ridiculous can I ask them to spend another $60 when for them they could probably get the same exact experience (due to skill, monitors, computer, etc.) by saving $30 or more? Yes, a lot of high-level gamers are looking at this mouse. But I’d argue that unless if they LOVE the shape, there are better options. A ton of mid to low level gamers also buy this mouse. Which again leads me to the previous question. And now you see my conundrum. Of I can’t just give a blanket statement of yes, it is better and therefore buy it. But instead have to weigh multiple factors. Last not disagreeing that there is a reason why this is an extremely popular mouse and one of the best selling mice of all time. But that is another reason why I (along with a lot of others) were expecting a bigger hardware bump. Especially, after 3 - 4 years (as the internal tech has been here for a while even if the OG Superlight came out after). Hardware for me is going to be similar to yours and not cause an issue. @@ThomasMuehler Sorry for the late reply, I have been quite busy. Again, I appreciate you for taking the time and effort to respond so extensively. And therefore you triggered me. I did go through a few more of your reviews and started to appreciate your input. And that's why I order a Deathadder v3 yesterday... :) And boy oh boy, I have to stand corrected.... I now understand what you mean. The Deathadder v3 is miles ahead of the Superlight, both 1 and 2. I just didn't have the right reference to understand your view. Being used to the Superlight v1 for so long did make the jump to a v2 a nice upgrade. But once I have spend just 2 hours with the Deathadder v3, going back to the Superlight v2 feels like going back in time, so slow, so laggy, there is no way back. And as a bonus, the Deathadder v3 suits my large hands much better, my hands fold nicely around the mouse in the palm grip, feels really comfortable. And the v3 even feels lighter then the Superlight 2, even though on paper it's a few gram heavier. Probably due to better weight distribution or something (less front heavy I think). And this is all still on 1000Hz. I did order the 4k dongle as well, will hopefully come in soon. Not sure if that's going to improve much, but now I'm really curious. Do you use this dongle, or have you used it? And if so, what is your on opinion on the high polling rates?

And more importantly, so you can feel the badassery of the DAV3 and have found a mouse that fits your hand better. I'm excited for you! As for the 4,000 Hz polling. Yes, I use that dongle. As for improvement? That's a hard question to answer. To start off, the recommendation is a minimum of 1600 DPI (which is what I use) with a recommended 3200 DPI (but I couldn't get my look sensitivity in all my games to be ok so decreased to 1600 DPI. As I play a lot of single player games as well which tend to be highly limited in how much you can adjust aim sensitivity) to fully saturate the lane and actually see an improvement. The most common DPI is 400 and 800 DPI. Which is not enough to saturate those lanes enough to notice a difference. Which is why I think most people don't feel a difference and think it is a gimmick/negligible. Also, I think it comes down to skill, computer, monitor, game, DPI. I feel a difference as things are smoother and latency is further improved. I mostly feel it in two areas. 1. Tracking. 2. Pixel adjustments and just being on point (meaning say I'm going for a headshot and adjust to hit their eye instead is easier. And that I tend to just be on the head not needing to micro adjust in the first place). The higher FPS I have the more I feel it too. Also, have noticed that if my form isn't good I can see my cursor move (where at a lower polling rate it wouldn't) which can be a double edged sword. As I find that improved responsiveness to give me better aim in game. But there are a lot of people who actually prefer 500 Hz because it gets rid of "their jitter". With all that said, I haven't noticed a big difference in my objective scores in Aimlabs (especially flicks) except for tracking as I spend more time on my target, less time off the target, and improved reaction time (in general). But subjectively in normal gaming, I find me hitting shots a lot faster as I don't have to micro adjust as often as my cursor just tends to be spot on and almost "stick" to targets when moving. And that it is easier and takes less effort to hit the hard shots. Even if objectively I'm not necessarily hitting them more often. But I think milage will vary a lot here (for multiple reasons as mentioned). And isn't something like the Focus Pro sensor. Where I think everyone will immediately feel a difference between it and nearly all other sensors on the market. So, yes I like higher polling rates, yes I use them all the time, no I don't want to go back to not using them, but I'm not sold that they are for everyone, and is more of a nice to have over a must have (due to limiting factors). The hit to battery life is real. I tend to have two profiles (one at 1,000 Hz and another at 4,000/8,000 Hz) so I can save battery during normal browsing but have full performance when gaming. I'd love to hear your thoughts on the higher polling rates once you get it in and try it out.

I think most people will be perfectly fine with the GPX 1. But if you are wanting the more flagship device. Or just USB-C, or optical switches then the GPX2. Or if you are someone who prefers to try and future proof a bit better then the GPX2.

Hopefully, someone else will come along and give you a better answer. As I'm not a good one to ask, as I tend to not focus too much on PTFE feet, or swap them from the originals all that often. With that disclaimer out of the way. Mice feet are pretty personal and how they pair to your mouse mat style to provide your preference of control, speed, and I'm sure there are others. I'd go through and read comments. I've answered this several times. I say that as I'm not sure I'll provide a good answer. But basically, if you are a hardcore gamer, someone who likes to future proof, someone who doesn't like to buy a product that's already out of date, have high aim skill, dislike Micro-USB, already have a lot of USB-C things, and don't want your mouse to double click then buy the GPX2. If none of those things apply to you save some money and go with the GPX1.

Hi! Do you have any experience with the scroll wheel durability? My "OG" Logitech G Pro X Superlight started to stutter and mess up the direction of scrolling about 1 year after the purchase. Since a few weeks, the mouse itself also stutters, not feeling smooth. Gladly its still in the warranty period. Does the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 has such a messed up scroll wheel aswell? Great question. I am not a fan of the Logitech scroll wheel on the GPX or GPX 2 as I think they feel cheap. Also, heard some people complain about durability issues. But to answer your question the GPX 2 looks/feels to be the same as the GPX 1.
