Have to admit: after creating this video Nymphes joined the race and dominated eversince.

Excelent video, thank you! Would you recommend the Nymphes? Make a video with it! Thanks

@@THESHINE-ns3jk I love the Nymphes, its amazing with a good keyboard or sequencer. 6-poly is very handy. Will do a video for sure :)

I have a couple Minitaurs that I use all the time, always eyeing the Sirin but it's just so expensive. Do you actually use SIrin pitch above C5 very often? Minitaur is such an awesome bass synth and I have so many other monos and polys that I think I just have GAS.
@minoclue4 ай бұрын
No, not very often. These complementer use cases would have been the reason to go upper octaves (like in the video), but even in this scenarios I prefer others. Tbh, if I hadn’t have this for cheap back then (or if I have sold it by now), I would not buy it today. The only reason I keep it because its a rare magical item, but not much of a use these days. Its a pretty nice sounding but simple monosynth. For the price you could almost buy a Sub37 which has way more sounddesign capabilities and a keyboard. Also, dont forget: Minitaur goes down to 20hz, Sirin goes down to 40hz. Not that I felt the missing bass, but still, the fact already hurts a little. :) Fight the GAS, buy a typhon or nymphes instead. Dreadbox is the manufacturer that compares to Moog for me. I also have an erebus v3 and its just out of this world.

@@minoclue thx. I didn’t know minitaur goes lower. Nice. I already have the sub but I like desktop units like in your video. I don’t have a single Dreadbox yet but as soon as a decent used one comes my way I’m in. There’s a few models Im into but a good assortment of built in effects does sway me even over polyphony. Cheers.

@@minoclue …and yeah, stupid me didn’t even know that Sirin was a thing until after it went out of production, and I already had that minitaur. Was a good price back then.

@@minoclue Yeah, nice. 👍🏼 Have you done a comparison between the Nymphes and the Typhon? Poly vs Mono, I know … but interested in the different timbre/heft of the two …

@@minoclue. Have you tried the Hades? I don’t love the Typhon effects (but sounds good dry 13:00), so thinking the Hades (or Minitaur) might be the mono/bass for me … perhaps partnered with a Nymphes or an Erebus … ? 🤔 I like how tactile the Volca Keys is, too, and - especially drenched in reverb ☺️ - it can sound pretty good. Cheers, be well!

@@kierenmoore3236 Hard to compare. Apart from the size, they are very different. Nymphes has very different UI, nearly useless effects, but 6 amazing voice. But I cannot produce the sounds that Typhon can. However, if I had to pick one, I would take Nymphes, because 6 voice is just mindblowing.
@minoclueАй бұрын
@@kierenmoore3236 It all depends on where you want to use it and what is your preferred workflow. Hades and Erebus are more of these playaround and happy accidents boxes for me. I love the Erebus I have because it can produce some really unique sounds if you have the time to play around. Taking live would be a different thing, especially because Erebus V3 is huuuge. If you don't care about the effects but the sound, I would say its a tie between Typhon and Minitaur. They are around the same price on the used market (ok, Minitaur might be a little bit more), they sound similar, presets, lots of knobs. Minitaur + Nymphes with a decent drum machine or sampler is a live set. :)

Do the Digitakt midi channels drive the stuffs?
@minoclue8 ай бұрын
Yes, each track has some melodies mapped to each device. Although, apart from the Sirin, all of them have an internal sequencer.

Hmmm I find the Tetra very easy to work with live. I have a patch ready to go and another on the combo mode, I can easily tweak the filter, and envelope and well as detune the oscillators.... I think one thing that you fail to mention with the volca and dreadbox is the lack of pitch stability... I use at least 4 synths per show. They need to all stay in tune...the DSI is digitally controlled and tunes itself.

I’ve just purchased a Tetra. Do you edit patches in the box, a software editor or midi controller?

Had never any problems with pitch stability on typhon and volca keys or bass. Why do you think they have pitch - stability issues?

Put all these in the bin and forget about them and buy a gramaphone😊
