I’m so sorry my brother. His spirit is free now. To sail and sail and sail
@Wickersham78 Жыл бұрын
Wow! I thought I was the only one who viewed it as "sailing" through the clouds and not on the ocean! I was just a kid when this song came out, but thanks to my Mom and her love for music, I appreciated this song and it's beauty even though I was only 8 years old when it was released. Fast forward 18 years and as a 26 year old, while sitting at my Mom's funeral, the priest described my Mom's spirit "sailing' through the clouds over our rolling hills one last time on her way to heaven and I immediately thought of this song. Now 25 years later at the age of 51, hearing it still stirs my emotions and makes me miss my Mom more than any other song I hear. God bless you and your big brother! I'm sorry you lost him to that awful disease. I lost my Mom 2 weeks after her 54th birthday due to complications from Type 1 diabetes, a disease 2 of my sons now suffer from. This song will always have tremendous meaning to me, as I'm sure it will for you as well.😌

To think of how many thousands of times he sung that for fans. What a challenge it must be to stay present and _tell the story_ with authentic feeling after so many years of doing it. Brian Wilson comes to mind, who found a way after living a whole bunch of life and ultimately having a revelation. A switch went off. He came to understand and accept on an important level how deeply his music affected people. Performing now had an energizing noble higher purpose. He owned his power to lift the spirits of fellow humans and transport them. Stage fright and anxiety melted away, replaced by joy. Everything changed.
