The State and local government should never have allowed the residence to be built next to an amuzment park zone. The residence should have had no right to complain when they moved in next to a block of land long established as an amusement park!

Fantastic to see this video back up, if you’re taking requests I’d love to see a video on the Lachlan Vintage Village.

Hey, SL films. It would be really cool if you could do an episode on pizza showtime and other Australian animatronic pizza places. It would be pretty cool because 1. I havent seen a proper documentation of these places and 2. They are very popular in the animatronic community. Places like this include billy bobs pizza theatre in Knox, Victoria, pizza showtime in Perth, NSW and Charlie cheese in surfers paradise, QLD and carindale QLD. these places info on them are very slim but lots of them did pretty well except Charlie cheese. But that’s the companies fault. These places all had arcades in them, usually similar to Timezone just better.

I deliver packaging to Luna Park 2 or 3 times a week. It's so trippy to see it in its abandoned state. I wish it had of occurred to me back in the 90s to go explore it.

Damn I loved Luna Park in the mid 90s. I was so angry when those rich North Sydney a-holes ruined the place. My Grandfather actually worked there in the 60s and my father got to hang out in the park for free as a kid, I was so jealous when he told me haha

@queenielouweekly3160 I'm not sure, I'd have to ask my dad. I think staff probably got moved around a lot, that's what it was like when I worked at Sea World in my early 20s.

Once the Ghost Train fire happened and the Big Dipper was demolished, that was it, Luna Park was dead.

I worked there on and off for a hospitality agency, the guy running it back in the early 2000's was a bit of a hot head, he berated staff before an event just as a forewarning, such a little man move, and on a darker note, a security team that had a fulltime guard dog at the site before it opened after the early 2000's refurb had its head removed, not sure the full extent of what happened there but the place at that time had some shady characters attached to it.

Luna Park is loved. That love will never die regardless of whingeing wealthy creeps who move in next door to a noisy tourist attraction & then complain about the noise... Discusting entitled creeps!

For chrissakes CLEAN UP YOUR ACT. This video starts with long blackness then blue screen and static before a full-screen "1990". Amateurish as hell. Needs a major edit so we can fully enjoy the fascinating historical footage. I went to Luna Park in early 1970's.
