I can’t believe this, you gotta see this Baby don’t it seem like forever Ain’t nothing like an old photograph You can hold and man, I can still remember Your hand shakin’ I said “take it now” It was you and me with the top rolled down And a melody between us, falling in love Crazy enough to think, It’d always be that way But if I could jump through this frame right now To let us know how we turned out (well) I’d just smile at us and say “it’s even better today” Even better We weren’t all about the backwoods Or the big trucks or drinkin’ Beer From a Dixie Cup (no) When we wanted, Country, Baby All we ever needed was You and me with the top rolled down And a melody between us fallin’ in love Crazy enough to think it’d always be that way But if I could jump through this frame right now To let us know how we turned out (well) I’d just smile at us and say “It’s even better today” (yeah) Even better Well, I can see you’re thinkin’, what I’m thinkin’ So come on, let’s go, take that ride again…. Now it’s you and me, the top rolled down And a melody between us So in love and crazy enough To think it’ll always be this way But girl, I bet 30 years from now If I can get back here somehow I’ll be smiling when I say “It’s even better today” (ohh yeah, ohh even better) Even better today It’s even better today

This is the BEST. THING. EVER. This formula definitely works, and even better than the six songs featured in your mash-up. Please continue making original songs, you definitely have the talent!
@peasley99 жыл бұрын
Rui Ichinose I don't think it's as much talent as it is just copying other songs. There's nothing new here, and I don't really know what he's trying to accomplish by posting a video showing people that he is just copying other songs, and then asking them to buy his song.
@Selrisitai9 жыл бұрын
peasley9 It's an experiment. He's trying to accomplish determining if the formula continues to work in a different situation (KZbin) to an ostensibly different audience.
@MaggaraMarine8 жыл бұрын
+peasley9 He's not copying anything. He's writing a new song by using the same formula (that has been used for countless songs). That's what all songwriters do all the time, intentionally or unintentionally. Writing a good new song by using an old formula is not easy. Was this a good song? Well, I wasn't a big fan of it, but I'm not a fan of this style in general. But it did sound like a song that could be played on the radio.
@peasley98 жыл бұрын
I disagree with your statement saying that all songwriters use the same formula all the time. I do think certain music can inspire similar music, but there are artists that do not follow a formula and that is what takes talent. Raw inspiration with new sounds and style are what keep music interesting and that is what I consider to be original. Regurgitating the same formula that sounds like any other song on the radio is easy and doesn't bring anything new to the table. It's a shame that people keep paying for the same thing over and over
@MaggaraMarine8 жыл бұрын
peasley9 There are many formulas but the basic pop/rock song formula is the same. You have verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus. That's how so many songs go. And so many rock or pop songs use the same chords. It's just natural. People may not consciously think about it but there's always some "logic" behind songs (well, not always). When you break almost any song down, you can find that there's some kind of common formula behind it. Certain chord changes just feel "natural", certain kind of melodies just feel "natural", certain kind of structure feels "natural". That's how it goes. Now, of course this song used a more strict formula - the structure and the chord changes were already pre-determined. But I see nothing wrong with that. You could end up with the same chords and the same structure without deciding it in advance. You can't really copyright a chord progression or a song structure. I see this song more as a fun experiment or a challenge. Sometimes a fun experiment ends up sounding great and that's when you want to release it.

+sir mashalot I'm not sure what my unprofessional opinion is worth to you but here it goes: This is a GREAT current top 40 country hit song. The content is not overly complicated, the story is perfectly suited to what listeners are looking for and telling the Country Music Machine they like. Your performance (or whoever lead vocals was) was very good - I think the song would be better suited to a higher caliber performer (ie. global country superstar vs. independent singer-songwriter). I would aggressively pursue the sale of this song to a major label if I had your talents. Thanks for some great content and I look forward to your future work.
@muddro4209 жыл бұрын
+Logan Irons I agree with this. That song deserves two things, one is a better performance (no offense to a great original vocalist but it kind of has that "studio time is limited" feel, maybe a few more takes would have produced a better performance). If you brought in a bigger star, I would hope you find someone who has a vocal style that is similarly twang-free, as this answered a question I've always wondered about what country songs sound like without that gimmick (turns out, they sound like pop!). The other thing it deserves is a serious round of promotion. Give it a real run against the rest of the pack. I think even without editing this track as it is would hit the top 20.
@johncates8129 жыл бұрын
+Logan Irons The fact is ... science says that if we like a sound, we are drawn to that sound. someone produces a sound that is a hit, others CASH IN on that and make something similar that will SELL. In that, it is NOT original but made to earn your cash. Nothing original, just a cash cow. Follow along sheep, buy those tickets.

To me it sounds like most any other song on country radio today, and I wouldn't think twice about it if I heard it while driving to work.
