Oh man I had a similar experience actually. So I’m a musician and I collect old instruments as a hobby. I recently took a trip to Vancouver with my girlfriend Ai (she’s half-Japanese) to look at an old stringed instrument that the guy told me he bought at a market in Cairo. The guy was a bit weird, and insisted that the instrument once belonged to the ancient Egyptian god Ra, and if a special phrase was uttered that Ra’s power would erupt from it. I obviously had my doubts, but I ended up buying the instrument anyway, as it was a beautiful piece of work. We headed back with our new acquisition to the Airbnb we were staying at, but on the stairwell up we ran into world famous esports star and certified Unity developer Northernryan (Ryab Letourneau) Lion! His life partner K8 was also with him. We told him we were huge fans and if he could acquiesce a photograph. He didn’t seem interested, and said that he was in a hurry to go buy some Asian Beef for his actual human sons and he didn’t have time for ‘music nerds’ (my girlfriend Ai was still clutching the instrument we had bought). K8, however, seemed interested in taking a picture with us. She also has some interest in Japanese culture, so when K8 heard my girlfriend’s name she got to talking with my girlfriend about her family. My girlfriends actually has some Korean and Chinese ancestry as well, so her last name is Il (that’s i and L, so hard to read in this font) and her middle name is Feng. K8 thought this was really interesting, but I caught Ryab yawning and doing the ‘blabbing mouth sign’ with his other hand. He even muttered ‘Jesus Christ K8’ under his breath. When they were done chatting the three of us (minus Eggfather) huddled together to pose as I asked Northern if he could take the picture for us. He sighed and rolled his horrible yellow eyes, but took my phone and held it up. ‘Ok, one... two... everybody say “Mind if I roll neeeeeeeeeeeeed?!?”’ As soon as he said that, the viola that my girlfriend was holding emitted a howling shriek that almost deafened us! It was like a shockwave came out of it! ‘That must have been the trigger phrase!’ I thought. ‘It really did belong to Ra! That guy was telling the truth!’ The blast knocked me to the ground and sent K8 sprawling as well. Ai took the worst of it though, and was sent flying towards the concrete steps. It seemed like Ryab might have been able to catch her, but at the last moment he sidestepped and said ‘OOOOPS’, plucking the viola from her hands as he did. With a soft smirk on his face he then hurled it at me with all of his might. The last thing I heard before before it smashed onto my face was Ai’s shrieks of pain as she tumbled down the steps. When I came to, I was alone, my body covered with smoldering pieces of the viola. Ryab, K8, and Ai were nowhere to be seen. All I have now is the memory of what happened: Ai F. iL down the stairs and Ra’s viola on me. -Evovae42
