What lens filters do you recommend for these lenses?

My question might have been answered, if I put a matte box at the front of the lens, will it help reduce the flare or not so much?

Did you like the jupiter set better than the saturn set? I think you have used both. I was thinking buying the saturn set but i really like create close shot and the saturn are not so good at this with what i have seen in other review. Can you help me with than please i dont have access to rental shop to try it unfortunately😬

breathing and chromatic aberation are the most important things to look for in a cine lens, right?
@JasonMorrisphotocinema2 жыл бұрын
It really depends on your cinematography style. But generally low breathing is desired. The cinematographer the filmed “Jojo rabbit” actually liked the focus breathing in his shots and the imperfections it had

@@JasonMorrisphotocinema thanks! I love siruis ff anamorphic and ive considered this nee cine line, so im trying to see where it will benefit over the photo lenses i have

The most important thing is the look. Lots of DPs don't mind some CA and don't worry about breathing if they like the vibe.

@@stu9000 what other elements are part of the look?

@@SaxSpy one is 3D pop, also smooth bokeh, smooth transition from focus to out of focus, how the highlights bloom, what the flares look like :)

yo yo my man, it's a really good video I have to say. There is only one question. Are you using a reliable PL to E mount adapter? I believe it's Meike Lens Adapter PL-E, right?

HI! I need your personal opinion, tell me please what would you choose Meike 35mm T2.1 FULLFRAME or Sirui Jupiter T2.0 FULLFRAME? Thanks =)

Both the Meike 35mm T2.1 Cine Lens and the Sirui Jupiter 35mm T2 Macro Cine Lens are solid choices for filmmaking, but here’s a detailed comparison to help you decide: Meike 35mm T2.1 Cine Lens Pros: Cinematic Look: Designed for filmmakers, with smooth focus and aperture rings that work great with follow-focus systems. Compact & Lightweight: Easier to handle for smaller rigs or handheld setups. Price: More budget-friendly, allowing you to invest in other filmmaking gear like lighting or audio. Cons: No Macro Capabilities: Limited if you want close-up, detailed shots. Sharpness: While good for its price, it might not rival premium cine lenses like the Sirui Jupiter in edge-to-edge sharpness. Sirui Jupiter 35mm T2 Macro Cine Lens Pros: Macro Capabilities: Adds versatility for extreme close-ups or creative shots, useful in Hollywood-style storytelling. Full-Frame Coverage: Future-proofs your kit if you upgrade to a full-frame cinema camera. High Optical Quality: Excellent sharpness, color rendering, and minimal distortion, ensuring professional-grade footage. Robust Build: Designed for high-end filmmaking, with weather-sealing and exceptional durability. Cons: Price: Significantly more expensive than the Meike. Weight: Heavier, which might require better stabilization (e.g., a sturdier tripod or gimbal). Which Should You Choose? Go with the Meike 35mm T2.1 if: You’re working with a tighter budget. You’re focusing on narrative films where macro shots aren’t critical. You want a lightweight, easy-to-use lens Choose the Sirui Jupiter 35mm T2 if: You want maximum versatility (macro + full-frame coverage). You’re prioritizing optical quality and durability.

Don't use variable ND filters. They make your subject lifeless. VND are two polarizers attached together and take off reflections, etc. off your subject. Use HQ ND filters instead.
