Thanks you very much for this video and explanation, please what is exactly the difference between SIS system and Emergency shutdown system (ESD)? and if the two system (SIS &ESD) have relation during plant operation with Fire & gas system (FGS) !!!

Hi..Wonder what is the definition of a SIF Loop? For shown example, do we consider all the sensors (*3), PLC and On Off Valves (*2) as a SINGLE SIF LOOP?

Why sis have separate loop why wouldn't dcs loop perform additional trip functions

SIS is designed such that it will NOT depend on any other control systems like DCS. If DCS fails then SIS can shutdown the plant in safe manner.
