Jimmy Hollywood is a hilarious movie. Critics always seem to brag about their own ideals as if it is some kind of law of science. It's a perfectly fine movie. Reviews tell more about the reviewer than what they are reviewing.

Calm down, it's not like either Major League or Mighty Ducks were MASTERPIECES that were destined to attain classic status in the first place. THOSE were both just dumb bland commercial flavor of the month movies of their immediate time that are NOW outdated and insignificant.

The biggest problem with the Mighty Ducks sequels is that the storyline from the original film is repeated over and over. Just with different styles of hockey.
@staggmovie4 жыл бұрын
The biggest difference between with the third film , the MightDicks get a new head coach as Gordon Bombay loves on to a job with the Junior Goodwill games. And plus there is a death of a character not seen in either of the first 2 novices.

Problems with _Major League II:_ 1. The original is a funny edgy *R* and the sequel is PG (not even PG-13 😬) 2. Recasting Wesley Snipes, you can't 😒 3. Broader and goofier, not funnier 🙄
@matthewstechel20374 жыл бұрын
On the one hand i wanna agree with you that the first one is funnier BUT this movie came out when i was in sixth grade and i was able to see it in theaters because of its PG rating and i absolutely loved it at the time---and honestly there's plenty of sexual content thats in there, its just not as blatant....I was glad I got to see it tho, if it had been rated R i wouldn't have been able to see it until it hit cable a year or two later.

Even as a kid, I was underwhelmed by Thumbelina and it just reeked of lazy writing that all the villains she encountered were romantically interested in her and two of them actively tried to force a marriage.

There were several problems why Major League II was a bad film. 1). Downgrading the film to PG instead of keeping the movie to rated R. 2). Relocating the film to Baltimore instead of keeping the film in Milwaukee. 3). Replacing Wesley Snipes with Omar Epps.
@lalarimekaki51734 жыл бұрын
replacing anyone with omar epps sounds like a bad deal.
@reneperez79034 жыл бұрын
Very well said I hated how Major League 2 was PG & not R, I agree Camden Yards was not a good place to play the Indians lol & Omar Epps wasn’t that bad but at that time Snipes was expensive & couldn’t afford him but he made the right choice by not returning.
@RocStarr9132 жыл бұрын
The production company or the studio probably felt that the sequel would be more successful at the box office if it could get a PG rating rather than R. Turns out the R-rated content was a big part of what made the original Major League any bit stand out at the time.

I loved Siskel, but I have so many problems with the way he rated child actors in movies and horror movie actors as well. He always rated movies poorly if they had kids in troubling situations, or if they were horror movies. It did not matter if the script was well written, the movie was well acted, or the production value was right on. Movies like IT and IT: Chapter 2 would be given an automatic thumbs down by him because of that even though they are Rated R. Good Boys, which was one of the funniest films of last year, would be the same way. He did not like Horror Movies either. Movies like Ready or Not, which I felt was a great horror film, would be given an automatic thumbs down too. Those were the only issues I had with him.
