The one thing about this film that I think made it better than the original is that it had far better Predator moments, the alley scene, the penthouse scene etc. Most of the predator kills in the original happened off camera and was merely a distant scream followed by Arnie's horrified expresion.

I believe the original was trying to relay more on suspense than show the gore. also, you wrote the characters in the original were killed off screen and predator 2 didn't have that problem, what about during the beginning of the second movie were we don't see the predator killing the Colombians, all we see is the aftermath. second, the train sequence, we don't clearly see how the predator is killing those random thugs because, the lights were completely dead. Third and lastly,you mention the alley scene, we don't see a fight between king Willie and the predator. I hope i didn't come across being rude writing this, i trying to have a point.

It’s entertaining. What is very very strange is why the film is set in the future- the film makes no use of this, the weapons are set in the real time world. A few cute and funny sequences such as the predator fixing himself in a bathroom. It makes bill paxton to be the sole man to confront an alien, a predator, and a terminator.

Predator 2 is undoubtedly underrated. Its nearly as good as the first one for me, hell I even Re-watched the 2nd one a bit more than the first one.

I think this movie is awesome, and in some ways it was even better than the prequel. Danny Glover is a far superior actor to good ol' Arnie , and Gary Busey was always fun to watch in his heyday. And let's not forget about Bill Paxton's contribution here. Lastly, the slaughterhouse scene and the spaceship scene were absolutely top notch.

Predator 2 is so much better than the original. It expanded the Predator mythos, hinted at the Yutani Corp being involved, as well as AVP. It started building the bridge to the Alien films. Danny Glover was badass, and Bill Paxton was a hoot!

I only now noticed this: when Predator in the sequel gets hurt by Harrigan, it's made with 12 caliber shotgun, not some fancy autorifle. Hunter got shot with huniting ammo.

I recently went back to watch this after seeing predators and if we separate the notion that there's other films in the franchise, this makes a surprisingly good story about a detective who finds himself hunted by someone not human who's targeted those around him. This leads up to the tension at the end when the two finally come face to face. On it's own, it certainly does the job. Shame nobody can see through it enough to give it credit.

Predator 2 was redeemed by the final scene that added depth and nuance to the Yautja which made it not a simple evil monster. It also jumpstarted the AvP franchise. But the rest was crap, and I agree with Siskel and Ebert.

Should have added Mel Gibson and combined the franchises. With the right guy doing the screen play, it would have a great chance of kicking total ass, but back then, studio executives were too afraid to take chances.

It was a bad idea bring the predator into the city, I like it much better in the jungle which was much more exciting & I'm glad Arnold refused to appeared in this because he thought it was terrible idea as well. Don't have the imagination & lot of foul language, I want less violence and more sci-fi.

I thought they would say the one scene at the end aka there spaceship and knowing more about the predators like after the fight and him giving it to Danny was interesting and the scene of the boy with the gun in the cemetery like I love predator 2 yes the language but I fine with it and insulting of women I don’t know witch scene or know them insulting women plus I just watch it last week but yea the movie even tho it different the first it expolores more of the predator and I love roger and gene but I disagree with them on this one yes it has some problems but predator franchise is way different then they think like Rambo and alien plus when u learn more about the predators u want to know there history and other stuff cause they are so interesting and more complex and intriguing characters

I never liked this Movie, I remember driving my car with my friend named Sarah when This Movie was in Theaters, Another hour later we arrived at the Movie Theater, I chickened out and told my friend Sarah to go see this Movie without me, She got out of the car and went to see this movie, another hour later Sarah walked out of the movie theater and got back in my car, as we was driving back to my house, Sarah told me that She didn't like the movie that much, She had to get out of the Theater that it was in, when some of the scary parts was about to happen.

I agreed with Siskel and Ebert. I still did not like "Predator 2" at all. It's a pale carbon copy, a high-tech expensive movie with elaborate special effects, lots of violence and some foul-language, well, I liked "RoboCop 2", but different. Danny Glover was very good from "Lethal Weapon" and "Lethal Weapon 2". Now he and the other actors were given dialogue which has been punctuated by the most vile language. I have a 62 year-old mother who was also using foul-language when she was having sickness, and I couldn't stand it for that vise versa. It does sounds really insulting, and I just couldn't stand it. Anyway, "Predator 2" is major disappointment of the series. Not a low-budget sequel, it's just kind of dull. Thumbs down for me. Predator 2 (1990) 2/4 👎👎
