Around the beginning of the year I had done a compilation of various Worst Movie that #SiskelandEbert have reviewed over the years well in this 2 hour extravaganza we witness every year's worst films from 1980 to 1998, some years had three terrible films, some had just one. So sit back and witness the very worst movies ever!
Unfortunately not all reviews exist for some of them so I had to go to the "Worst of" episodes to get the missing ones.

Roger's review of 'North' was rather tame compared to his printed review! "I hated this movie. Hated hated hated hated hated this movie. Hated it. Hated every simpering stupid vacant audience-insulting moment of it. Hated the sensibility that thought anyone would like it. Hated the implied insult to the audience by its belief that anyone would be entertained by it."

And it is as awful as they said it is. I saw it sometime last year, and I couldn't believe how bad it was. Even some of the stuff that gets bad laughs doesn't redeem it at all for me. I actually do think it's the worst movie I've ever seen.

Thank you, he is so beloved I have sometimes questioned myself as to what I'm missing. First two movies I saw him in were The Odd Couple and The Fortune Cookie. He played such miserable characters I didn't watch any more of his films for years. Eventually, I saw The China Syndrome and he was miserable in that one too, but at least he had a good reason.

It was fun to watch and see what they picked. Sometimes it would be a surprise and I'd have to think back to the original show and see they were saying it was bad and would reappear on the worst of the year show. Sometimes when an obvious choice didn't appear I'd figure they didn't have room for it or wasn't worth it to trash again.

Well, uh, that is what Cimino seems to be saying off camera in every shot of this film as every scene drags and drags and drags. It's been 44 years since that movie was released and sorry, I just don't appreciate it now as I didn't then. But I'm so glad you DID - because I'm glad that Cimino left this earth knowing people DID like his 3 hour and 40 minutes version. I just wish he didn't make the decision to pull the film and just let it fade out of theaters - because then we would be arguing about a movie instead of arguing about a NOTORIOUS movie that bombed.

@@user-uq6sz6po3d A: I assume they reviewed the 1981 Director's Second Edit [149 min] (for nationwide release) since the Premiere Version [219 min] only was shown at the Cinema 1 in New York City, NY and Toronto, Canada B: You still batching Heaven's Gate (1980) since it got resurrected by MGM/UA for Home Video release in for CED release, and received a preliminary critical re-evaulation by showing the Premiere Version on Z Channel in 1982? Why don't cancerous film critics try "Inchon" (1981)? Pros: Less offensive than "The Green Berets" (1968) [according to Vincent Canby from The New York Times] Ben Gazzara's voice sounds like Batman [funny he didn't win a Razzie, lol] Jerry Goldsmith's Score [main reason why this film, obviously still has the remaining light of the film] Cons: The 105 min version omit David Janssen and Rex Reed from the 1982 Official Release from MGM/UA Entertainment Co. The only Razzie Award winning film to have not ever received a Home Video (due to the fact that the film was produced by One-Way Productions = funded by Unification Church by Sun Myung Moon) to make matters more bitter? We currently have a TV recording of the film from a channel formerly called GoodLife TV Network which thankfully puts the scenes cut from the 1982 version back in again annoyingly mutes cussing, like 'Goddamn' and 'Shit' etc. Long story, short: How many of you Eborsisks out there can name or know any film (outside of this interesting radioactive guilty pleasure), that have not received a Home Video release of any kind? Good Luck 🙂

While a terrible sequel to Highlander. It had a cool Sci-Fi concept with the Shield and how can you not love Michael Ironside chewing up the scenery as a villain. So no I gotta say it's not the worst movie of all time.
@gspendlove
@gspendlove 2 ай бұрын
@@jokerz7936 I'm of the opinion that perhaps the screenplay was written as a sci-fi concept which didn't involve the Highlander characters, and then, after the producers purchased it, the characters were shoehorned in? I may be wrong, but I think that's why there's all this stuff about them being from another planet, and the shield, and Ramirez coming back to life, etc., that had audiences scratching their heads. (I remember thinking, when I went to the theater to see it [that's right, I actually saw this movie in a theater way back then when it was first out], "Whaaaa-? Now they're from another planet all of a sudden? When did this happen?") I think they didn't want to write a sequel which would've basically been a remake of the first one; they wanted their characters involved in a different kind of story, and maybe this was the best one they could find where their characters could be used. Something similar happened with the unmade Total Recall sequel, where they were going to adapt Philip K. Dick's "The Minority Report" -- imagine the Tom Cruise movie, but with the location changed to Mars, Ahhnold's Douglas Quaid character in the Chief John Anderton role and with psychic mutants in place of the precogs. That actually might've worked. I think the producers of Highlander II thought this movie could work. They should've thought twice. The problem is that the original film's story already provided closure and any kind of continuation of it was illogical, no matter what they decided to do for a sequel.
