I just finished watching "V.I. Warshawski. I'm with Roger on this one. Thanks for posting the video. Those guys were great.

Adrienne Shelly was gorgeous (And very unique.). It’s really sad how she died. They recently made a documentary about her that HBO is airing this month (It looks good, too.).

Thanks for the info, I had a huge crush on her from watching Hexed. Such a tragic death

@@lerm2866 - I never saw Hexed. I read that it wasn't great. If you like her, you should check out the movie The Road Killers (It stars Christopher Lambert from Highlander.). It was from the 90's. She had a pretty big role in it.

"V.I. Warshawski" reminds of "Gloria", a John Cassavettes film from 1980.

I appreciated Gene's honest answer to Roger's question about living homeless for 30 days, 'either I'd do much better, or alot worse'. Otherwise I felt he critiqued "Life Stinks" a little unfairly.

Too actress Adrian Shelley was murdered shortly before her directorial debut film "Waitress" came out in 2007.

Comparing VI Warshawski against the other great female detective of the era, Sue Grafton's Kinsey Millhone, I much preferred Kinsey. But Grafton never wanted the character adapted for film or television, and her kids have maintained that refusal. Good for them, but I still would love to see Kinsey in a movie. That said, I actually enjoyed VI Warshawski the movie, and Kathleen Turner is great in the part.

I love them, but they were too pro-establishment. Criticizing a Hal Hartley film for taking a youthful perspective is denying everything that makes his movies enjoyable.

VI is the beginning of the end of Turner's box office and Critical run After this debacle, she never hit the highs again, sadly

@@iluvmylovebirdandmybudgiet7729 Yes but that was after 1993 - if you look at her screen credits, the movies she made right after War of the Roses - Her last Huge Critical and Box Office Hit - were really bad movies - including VI - Undercover Blues - she said herself that turning 40 also did not help either

you can compare her to Melanie Griffith...most popular films had famous male co-stars...
@kd17Burger3 жыл бұрын
@@iluvmylovebirdandmybudgiet7729 Oh Lord No - I loved Melanie Griffith in Working Girl and Body Double - but she is not in the same Acting League as Kathleen Turner and you can say that as far Famous Male Costars but Michael Douglas was NOT a Huge Film Star in 1984 when they made Romancing the Stone and Kathleen Turner was the one winning critics aware and Golden Globes for her Starring Performance and she was just as Great in Body Heat, her first film with a very unknown William Hurt, so saying she had famous costars in those films is incorrect and a little unfair

Obviously these were filmed in standard definition; 480i. You are seeing them in their true resolution. When you stretch or skew them, they get blurry and display artifacts. Unless you are Disney and have the original prints, the wallpaper is the best option to maintain quality.

@@iluvmylovebirdandmybudgiet7729 Life Stinks should have been the film that made it on their annual worst of the year list, not Men in Tights which was bad but not nearly as bad as this one.
