Gene Siskel & Roger Ebert really hate the action-filled trash known as "Color of Night"
Not to be confused with the Paul Newman's "the Color of Money"
Nothing Belongs to me

@Bob Jones that's the key word , gratuitous...he loved Henry , Portrait of a Serial Killer, and Last House on the Left, 1973 ..but yes, violence for the sake of violence does not make sense and it's just like Human Centipede

It could have been hilarious to see Gene Siskel when he was saying about the knife, when the masked murderer made a fist and the blade was ludicrously attached to the knuckles, meaning punching and stabbing all at the same time when Scott Bakula was bumped off.

I finally saw this movie for the first time (the Director's Cut). It was completely bonkers and I agree with them that those scenes with the red Firebird made no sense at all but I must admit I was thoroughly entertained. I loved Jane March's performance and she is gorgeous in some surprisingly steamy scenes. There was also more of Willis then I was expecting to see (plenty of material in those scenes for the gentlemen and the ladies). I always enjoy who-done-it mystery films and this film took that classic formula and cranked up the insanity as far as possible. It is a bit of a mess but overall it is a daring, crazy thriller that I would certainly recommend.

Why do people always insist I feel guilty for liking these guys? I always laugh my ass off. Also, people who say "Who are S&E to tell me what is good?" are hypocrites as they fully expect others to think their personal favorites are godsends. And if you don't agree, you get insulted or even threatened.

There's the movies that are GOOD and the movies YOU LIKE, the ones that entertain you. Even bad movies can be entertaining lol People can't separate the two. My favorite SW movie is ROTJ - but is it THE BEST? Hell's no...teddy bear army ruins it (that's why I cut them out) lol There's a funny moment in It's Always Sunny... Where Dennis talks about critics that's SPOT ON. LOL

“Or the killer might be Rose, a strange young woman played by Jane Mah-rch, who sort of stumbles into Willis’s life and supplies the film’s unsexy love scenes”. It’s really funny how Gene emphasises Jane’s last name, March.

Ebert: …and the chase scene! What about that red car that chases everyone around… Siskel: Boring. Ebert: …and there’s no way the driver could know he was down below… Might be the funniest review they’ve ever done. I love how both of them just constantly can’t even conclude their original thought before jumping onto something else they hated about this movie.
@80sDude990
@80sDude990 4 жыл бұрын
Roger says to Gene about the car chase, “What about that red car that chases him around? “Boring”, deadpans Gene. I just watched this scene. Although I wouldn’t say it’s boring, car chases are usually in films that are, say, action thrillers, which Color of Night is not. So the chase is laughably out of place, even more so for being badly shot 🤣. When Bruce Willis later parks his car, the driver of the red car expertly (!) times the car to fall on Willis from the top of the parking garage, even though. he. cannot. see. over. the. edge. why didn’t it just explode on impact, when it landed on the two parked cars, just to give more of an out of place feel in an erotic thriller? I also just watched this scene.

@@williamhowe1 I’m really keen to watch North, as I’ve not done so yet, but it’s not on Netflix and it can’t be bought from KZbin. Not available on DVD either. That bad? I would say it has to seen to be believed. Not to mention Elijah Wood as the titular boy, who divorces his parents and one of the people he meets; Bruce Willis dressed up as a pink bunny rabbit. I believe he even chomps on a carrot.

You know what is clichéd? Reviewers talking about clichés when they don't like the movie, and not noticing them when they do. I guarantee you neither one of them complained about Luke Skywalker dangling in Empire Strikes Back, or Harrison Ford dangling in Blade Runner. And they don't even apparently understand who the villain WAS in the movie. No villain in this movie ever climbed anything.
