Really love this song and the trilogy. But having recently come out of a toxic relationship where I wasn’t free to be myself and my partner placed a lot of rules which prevented me from being the real me, this song hits on a different level and accurately describes how I now feel about myself and how I’ll never let anyone put me in that position ever again, because I belong to me 💪

I've see film"Sissi" before some years... Again anytime I see it,are very nice and prossional actors,specially Romy... She is like an angels...🕊🕊🕊 Story of Sissi ia a part of history and her people would be proud for her imperatrice,not only beautiful but very clever!❤️ Her heart was peacefull!

Totally agree! But, I can see where some people may see that the English version may not have have as much passion as the German/Dutch version. I've heard the Japanese version as well and loved it. I think they'd have to do the translations rather carefully in order to hit the right emotions. Here's to hoping that someday we'll see this on a North American stage.

Sie geht auf eine andere Weise an das Thema heran und vesucht nicht die alte Trilogie zu imitieren, wie ich befürchtet hatte. Das finde cih guut. I think its a recording from 1992 thats why there are the breaks. Because Pias voice wasnt developed like it is today

It won't sell to the Broadway crowd. Elisabeth is almost forgotten in North America and the narrative frame of the show is very outlandish and would be hard to swallow for an audience used to "Hairspray" and "Legally Blonde."

You misunderstood me. I agree that the Kunze/Levay musical is a well balanced and accurate (albeit surreal) take on Elisabeth's life. I was just saying her theme song is a tad on the Disney side. And I don't think Marischka films were ever known for their historical accuracy. I only like them for the divine Romy Schneider. Otherwise, I'd find them just silly and insulting.
