Tanya was vocally mature back then. They downplayed her voice in the movie because Lauren was the star of the movie. They would not even allow her to use her upper register during the duet. Lauryn Hill was on track to be one of the most amazing voices of her generation but then kinda fell out, but her voice is unmistakable. Tanya Blount killed this set with her singing ability being closer to matching that Gospel vibe. Both attacked the song differently but absolutely amazing!

My God, I am so overwhelmed with emotions and a sort of sadness. As a kid my dad would play the songs of the movie every morning before we went to school. That was 20 years ago. I am so sad life has turned to what it is now and all these nice things are forever left in the past and our memories. Today I feel completely heartbroken.

And you get to see the beauty in praising God. I think the tears are also flowing because our country is going through much division and darkness. And just suddenly being taken back to a time where no matter what we did, we always respected God's presence, knew life is to be about Him and turned to Him at some point if not daily instead of taking it all in day after day.
