He's right about churches needing to address mental health issues and assist folks who need deliverance and help. Christ is the healer of all issues: mind, body, and spirit, the total man. There are mentally ill folks in the Bible that Jesus took the time to minister to. He was always moved with compassion, no matter the need; He healed then and still does now. On another note, who is the beautiful co-host on the far left (in Selena's usual seat)? I really enjoyed what she shared, as well as her delivery. She'd make a superb permanent addition to Sister Circle. God bless and keep you, Bro. Smallwood! Thanks for being transparent and honest about your situation.

His song """ TOTAL PRAISE "" Is a masterpiece ,,,, I had my two neice's sing it at my father's funeral. Thank God he kept his angels around him and brought him back. Because after u make that stand for Christ , depression goes with demons trying to attack you when your spiritual strength is down or you've missed a lot of church....

I am so thankful he is speaking out about his mental health struggles and I wonder how much of this is connected to an internal struggle with self acceptance. The black church has made it very difficult for people to be who they are...all of who we are....we are built to mask our real thoughts about self, sexuality, and spirituality. It's a true dichotomy that's killing many particularly in the black church.

@itspossible33814 жыл бұрын
StrongnBeautiful He also said: “There is safety in the multitude of counsel...”. “In the world you will have trouble...but I have overcome the world.” It takes a LOT for a believer to share their vulnerabilities to the world, to redirect them back to something that they have already done further stigmatizes mental health challenges. It’s good to know that he feels he has found both support & help in therapy and medication supports. I do believe that Christ is The Wonderful Counselor, but He also created & anointed counselors as well.

Yes I agree Strongnbeautiful , fasting and prayer is what is needed to break demonic oppression. The disciples could not cast out the demon because of it. Counseling is good and yes is a great resource, but does not apply for demonic strongholds. We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness. Only spiritual weapons can defeat spiritual battles.

@@Followerof_YAH i agree. So many times the Drs solution is medication which only masks the symptoms but dont get to the root problem . And alot of times is triggered through "feelings". The medical society says its a disease and sometimes people do have chemical imbalances but alot of times it's triggered by feelings. When you ask what happens when you get depressed they start off well i just "feel " this and feel that.

It’s some things going on now that Jesus or any of the Apostles was not dealing with... you got A.I. stuff going on today synthetic, computers and stuff that is unheard of... never stop praying never stop fasting never stop getting help until you are free...Dan Duval Bride Ministries deal with those issues that run deep that give the enemy a legal right to do things. Even God dealt with sin in the garden. Jesus asked the man by the pool of Bethseda " Do you want to be heal?' God dealt with sin head on. He never dismissed or avoided it. We as Christians have been taught to cover up our sins, and what I mean by that is; if i'm going thru something that is a sin issue, then I'm to act as though i'm blessed and highly favored while i'm going thru depression (sin), anxiety (sin), fear (sin), sexuality misconceptions (sin) etc. Let's call it what it is and face it and get the help that is needed. I don't know about anyone else on this page, but I am tired of covering up suffering and pretending everything is BLESSED when it is not. If God knows what I am going thru then why should I hide in shame and condemnation? We as Christians need to rise up scream from the mountaintop and begin to walk towards, walk out and be free from our hidden shame! ..... I'm about to cry.. I feel the tears welling up and I am tired.
