Shoqata Ulqini would like to proudly announce the establishment of a sister-city agreement between Staten Island and the city of Ulqin!
Authored by our Executive Director, Edon Alibegu, we extend heartfelt gratitude to Borough President Vito Fossella and Mayor Omer Bajraktari for their unwavering support in fostering this united alliance. Their dedication to promoting commerce, education, culture, and goodwill between our two cities sets an inspiring example for communities worldwide.
This agreement reflects the genuine intentions of Shoqata Ulqini, the visionary leadership of Mr. Fossella and Mr. Bajraktari, and the collective spirit of our communities. For 75 years, Staten Island has welcomed our families with open arms, and as proud Staten Islanders and Albanian-Americans, we express our deep gratitude to this special island we call home.
We believe this partnership will serve as a beacon of hope for our youth, promising a future marked by meaningful collaborations, mutual understanding, and shared progress.
We would like to thank Montenegro’s Minister of Human and Minority Rights for joining us, as well as members of our community!
