I agree. While addiction is never ideal, overcoming it is no small feat. Nor is being open and honest about it. That says a lot about a person's character as well. There's another side to that particular coin which she doesn't acknowledge. To be so obsessed with image is really troubling. There's 8 billion people in the world, who has the time or energy to give a fuck what they think? The only opinions that matter are your own, and those of the people closest to you. She's so terrified of people seeing her as less than perfect that she revealed herself to be an absolute dumpster-fire. She deceived and betrayed the people closest to her because that's the only way she feels worthy of them. The amount of self-loathing must be off the charts. It's funny how the most prideful and vain are also the most insecure.

Its weird to me so many people seemingly convinced op she was "meddeling" and didnt love her sister just because she dared to question her sister about extremely odd behavior. It literally is because you love someone that you would want more information on whats happening in their life. Also had they taken that approach from the beginning her behavior might not have been addressed or turned worse.

To be honest, in the beginning I thought Anne was just keeping it a secret thst Ruby had slept with the groom at some point in the past. Especially when Anne got mad at the red dress. Boy am I glad I listened to the whole story. So glad Anne is finally getting help and I don't blame Dave for not wanting to be married to someone who hid such a big part of themselves.

Yup. Anne caused destruction all around her, she didn't care who she hurt or insulted as long as she could keep her little house of lies intact. Lies upon lies to cover up for lies. There's nothing wrong with the family at all, seems like a fairly normal family albeit with some enabler issues (Anne was probably the golden child). This whole thing began and ended with Anne. She caused everything on her own, by lying, manipulating and gaslighting people around her. The husband and Ruby are definitely the biggest victims, but also OP who was crapped on by almost everyone because of the shit Anne was stirring. The bridesmaids weren't helping either by time after time doing Annes dirty bidding.

There’s a difference between meddling and holding someone accountable. No you don’t need to know what someone fell out about, but if you see someone acting out/uncharacteristic of themselves or see someone else being treated unfairly/wrong, YES STEP IN. People saying it wasn’t op’s place to ask what was really going on were way off base. That’s how people suffer physical/mental/emotional abuse for so long and how the liars/perpetrators/abusers get away with so much for so long. Don’t be a spectator simply because “it’s not your business”. So many lives hurt and someone who should’ve had help a long time ago all because no one wants to “meddle”. Meddle is being nosey. Seems like the problem with some people is completely unsustainable lies. Like yea we all lie in some way or another but concocting massive stories for crappy goals is always gonna fall apart.
