Sister T- Tincture Updates

Love the video! Last year I made homemade neosporin. And a bug salve from plantain. And lots of usnea tincture. My neighbor just brought me milk weed and mullein to make those. Out of all our property nit one mullein plant😢. Thank you for the good advise and my next concoction (as my husband calls them).

I have found a lot of yellow dock in my yard. I've been drying it out for tea and tincturesx. Really good stuff

Do the herbs have to be dried first?

I'm interested to hear what Sis T does, but for myself I usually use fresh plants. 80 proof vodka = 40% alcohol by volume and the rest is mostly water, so if you use fresh plant matter you are extracting the alcohol soluble components and the water soluble and in my opinion making it more beneficial overall. If I'm buying a herb I can't grow or forage I use dried.

Both based on my research. Some plants you need to thoroughly dry them out while other you can tincture them fresh. Fresh herbs still should be dried off pretty good after washing, not dripping water. The plantain tincture was fresh, but the mullien tincture was best being more dry first.

We have some purple dead nettle soaking in olive oil.
