I totally understand how Meri felt! My “holy grail” was the Amber Room in St Petersburg, Russia. I finally got there several years ago, and MY HUSBAND, who had no interest in the Amber Room or Russia in general, made the trip happen. The fact that Cody didn’t even know or care about something so important to Meri says all you need to know about a life with Cody. With the way Robin refused to help Meri move, but then made the move all about her, making it more difficult for Meri, then wanting to be the one comforted by Meri, and then Kody's sobbing at the move, wanted to be comforted by Meri due to the situation he caused in breaking her heart, Meri showed a great deal of grace and restraint. The whole world would have completely understood if Meri punched both of them to give them their severance pay. My late husband was David, but we called him Dave most often.

First point, husband gets his share. Not just wives. In normal marriage you split 50/50. In polygamy, split by number of wives + husbands. Of course there would also be calculations based on money put in etc but I think the Browns at the time pooled all their money. Or at least the money spent on Coyote Pass.

When Meri told K&R that Janelle had talked to her, I think it may have been shrewd. She knows Kody doesn't want to be seen as unfair, and that his narrative is that Janelle is somehow manipulative and bad. So Meri first tells him that Janelle told her to protect herself before next asking for the whole property to be appraised. She is betting that Kody will agree to the appraisal because it would be the opposite of what Janelle expects of him. His favorite ex-wife is asking for an appraisal. "Janelle is totally wrong about you, right, Kody? RIGHT?" - Meri

I was surprised that it was Meri who is insisting on having the property appraised instead of Janelle. Either way, Cody doesn’t want an appraisal because it’s clear that the lots are not of equal value and Cody would make sure he got the property worth the most! Kody then took their lots and used as collateral to purchase the third and fourth lot with a balloon payment at the end. So now Kody gets more of Meri's money to pay off the last two lots. Kody is really screwing Meri. I don't understand why Meri still trust Kody. She needs a lawyer. Kody isn't being nice by adding an extra acker for Meri.

If any of David's grandchildren are around calling him grandpa, the kids will pick that up from them. And, even though they are young, they no doubt have learned that you address your elders with respect. They would have so many aunts and uncles there that they would be trying to categorize him. They also have grandparents present and probably grandparents from the other side of their family that are not present. That older gentlemen is either an uncle or a grandpa. Little child logic. My kids are the youngest grandchildren in a large family. When they were born they had first cousins that were in their 30's and had children older than them. They called their one aunts Auntie Gramma for a while because they were trying to make sense of the relationships.
