I think what makes me dislike him even more is when he mentioned the “bling” on Robyn’s finger, but he can’t make sure his children like Savannah and Truley have money? And the fact that Robyn came into that family in debt and the family bailed her out yet she is sitting in a $2 million house and owns the raw land on coyote pass, which is valued at a little over $1 million. It’s very strange that Robyn knew so soon that Kody had that out of wedlock sexual encounter. It suggests that he and Robyn were in a similar position prior to marriage for the conversation to come up. It makes sense that Meri would know because she should’ve been the first person he was intimate with. The way that Janelle never wanted to discuss sex during the show, it kind of makes sense that she had a don’t ask don’t tell policy as it came to her and Kody’s sex lives. Keep in mind she was married before so he wasn’t her only “conquest” either. Christine-idk! It seems like something she would want to know, but would be very hurt by. As far as the kids and them preaching purity to their kids even though they didn’t themselves, I feel like that’s their right as parents. They lived the mistakes so hopefully their kids don’t have to. Christine was one where Kody had to walk a more collective line. She was AUB royalty and it matters in that occult. He could never be who is and land one of the royal women. Christine definitely would have thought less of him because she was raised in the faith and not saving yourself for marriage is a big deal. Not sure why he didn't tell Janelle. If he thinks purity is important he should have told the women he was going to marry.

I think you are bang on. He probably told Meri bc he probably confessed it to her before marriage. I think he told Robyn to make her feel better about her past. I think he didn't tell Janelle bc he thought she would possibly tell Christine. Maybe bc Janelle was already previously married meant he didn't need to tell her cause the both had already been with a partner before they got married so he deemed it irrelevant. I wonder if the look backs that they do at the end of the season if they will show Christine's reaction to this clip

Plenty of LDS missionaries can hide that and still go on one. The alternative choice is “confessing” to one’s bishop, and going through the “repentance process.” Depending on how chill your bishop is or how “grievous” your sin is, you may just get a slap on the wrist and be allowed to still go. Usually you’re required to go through some type of “repentance process” where you’ll meet with your bishop regularly and have some homework to do. You likely will be held back from participating in Mormon meetings in some ways or not being allowed to go to the temple. I know lots of LDS members who had to go through the process before being determined “worthy” to go on a mission, so it’s not uncommon. I’m not surprised Kody still went on a mission after having sex as a young man. It’s often a way bigger deal if you are married and if you’re in a higher position in the church. And in those cases you’re more likely to face a disciplinary counsel or even get excommunicated.

I always find it funny how hard Kody tried to convince everyone, including himself, that he never loved Meri. Are we sure the tryst was a woman? Thus is a legitimate question. Do y’all remember the friend of Kody’s that made Christine furious on that family trip? The one who said he needed to leave his last three wives and return to the church. They were talking about their “glory days” when the friend said some of their classmates/friends thought Kody was gay. I don’t remember the episode, and maybe I dreamed it but I don’t think so. All the adults were on couches talking after they’d been out on the lake. I’ve wondered that before. Anyone else?
