Beautiful!!! I just had mine installed January 2022. Started with 15-17 inches as well. Best. Hair. Decision. Ever! I know it sounds cliché, but I should've done it sooner. The hair freedom is unmatched in my book. My hair strands are fine and curly. Consultant thinks I won't be locked for at least 3 years... but I am here for it! Your hair video was one of my inspirations. I love your hair!

I'm just 2 days Sisterlocked and I already love them! You are definitely one of my loc crushes even though we have a different hair types. I have 4c higher density hair and I'm at 421 locs. I started on just 10.5-11 inches of hair. I was pleasantly surprised that it was fuller than I anticipated and how much I liked them right away. I appreciate the reminder try not to compare my journey with anyone else's. I feel like it will be hard at time but important to remember.

Thank you for this update. I JUST hit 1 year and I SWORE I would be fully locked by now, but your video helped me realize that it’s going to be a couple of years until it’s FULLY loc’d (my curl pattern is 3c/4a) 😩. I still braid my hair when I wash it because THESE ENDS will shrink. Your hair is beautiful by the way!

Hello. Also the color may be slowing down the locking process. Color does texturize your hair. Texturized or straighter hair would take longer to lock. Its still gorgeous.

I had sisterlocs for 4.5 yrs, but shaved them off December 2021… only bc Loctitian’s here in Cali weren’t bringing in clients for retightens. I did it myself for 2rounds, but just decided to start over..

I’m 3 months in and haven’t noticed any lint and don’t intend to ever have that problem. I fluff my hair to shake out any particles and wash every week. I’ve been covering my head all my life, learned that from my mama. I keep a bonnet or scarf on when at home, never sleep with loose hair. I’ve seen some people’s locs so linted up that it looks disgusting and I don’t want that.

Yeah, same! Love the fact that almost 2 years in...using oils, I still don't have a lint problem. I think its all in how you care for you locs. Most people make it sound like lint is just inevitable. I disagree.

Not concerned about it really, I just never intended to add any new bleach. I will retone the already bleached portions but I feel as though continuously bleaching locs will thin them out.

How do you keep the ends loose because I would want to keep the curly ends

They are just loose naturally and haven’t loc’d to the end yet. Eventually the ends may loc up.

Do you braid and band when you go swimming as well?

I Have not gone swimming with them yet. I would honestly just leave them loose more than likely since I am past the point of slippage. If I swam in the start of my journey I would have braided them for sure.
