I buy metal crochet needles with a blunt tip at walmart. They are like $2. I widen the hole with a screwdriver. But as for the rough parts of your needle try placing a couple of layers of clear nail polish on the needle to smooth the rough spots, works for me. Good luck with your journey!

You should try the oraje o locker tool the small one but in your case maybe the medium for you since your locs are on the larger size i do my own self retie the o locker will give a cleaner look and easy to use and trust I several different loc tools including the ones you have but keep in mind it will take a several hours since you are new at it but it gets easier over time just plan your retie over at least two days and lots of entertainment it’s actually very therapeutic and you feel good doing your own retie your hair looks great as always happy locaversary ..I will be one in two weeks with my locs you were one of inspirations I learned a lot from your videos

Glad to see you on my feed! I know what you mean about dry scalp this past winter. I found a tea tree shampoo that helped me out with those flakes and itchiness. I, also, learned to stop being hard headed about putting oil on my scalp because it just shows SLAP out!

Your locs are glorious and luscious. I sincerely hope you find a good consultant who is experienced and really cares. It’s taken me 4 WHOLE consultants to find someone who I can tell actually cares about my locs and takes time - she’s actually had to take some down from install 🙈😫😔. Quite a lot actually. I reckon someone who specializes in microlocs will be just as good tbh I’m kinda over thinking Sisterlocs are actually a so I’ll form of microlocs. Good luck!

Your video just reminded me to give my consultant a nice tip next month 😂 I have over 600 babies and she makes sure all of them are A1. How could yours overlook your concerns about bunching? 😲 Whew! Glad you're trying to make a change. Congrats on 2 years 🎊

Hair is fabulous its bunching I have it too I just stretch my locks and I still have loose ends my consultant I have seen since my first yr she got too busy so I've been doing my own since about 8months into yr 1 had 1 other consultant do it only for her to Tell me that my grid was off and great deal were way to tiny in the back which I could already feel see combined a few and I have since corrected the rest so I guess its safe to say I no longer have sisterlocks I have Toddralocks u should try the ista lock tool or the smallest crochet needle it's very tiny I can't remember the size but I've seen a few people on here use them to do all kinds of repair to their locks good luck n your journey

Your Locs are beautiful. The Nizoral shampoo will help that flaking. You can get it at Walgreens, over the counter. Or have doctor write an Rx, for prescription strength. It works well for me and many others. Thanks for sharing.

Can you do a hit oil treatment with sister locs? I do a hot oil treatment on my girls once a month and it keeps their scalp moisturized for about 3 weeks at a time.

Your locs are gorgeous!!! 😍😍😍 No shade here, just food for thought. Do you do anything to moisturize your scalp? It sounds like you may be doing a lot to cleanse your scalp but nothing to moisturize it afterwards. No moisturizing shampoo, no oil on the scalp to seal in moisture from water, no moisturizing water based sprays on the scalp. Each of the cleansing methods you described are stripping moisture from your scalp. If you don't restore that moisture, the lack of moisture my be the cause for all the itching and flaking. You would probably be better off just using 1 cleansing shampoo, followed by a moisturizing shampoo. I understand the sisterlocks regimin is against the use of oils or moisturizers but I know my scalp gets SO dry and itchy if I don't do anything to moisturize it. And the more I do to cleanse it, the worse my scalp gets without a moisturizer. This happens to me with or without locks. I had traditional locks for about 5 months. I have microlocs now (~3 months) and 1-2× per week I spray on my scalp either plain water followed by massaging in an oil, or I use a water based moisturizing spray specifically for locs. (Dr. Locs leave-in conditioner or nugrowth essentials' moisture infusion, or you can make your own) That has kept my scalp from getting too dry and uncomfortable. I also include a moisturizing shampoo when I wash my hair. No baking soda or ACV. I wash it every 2-3 weeks. Slippage or buildup has not been an issue for me, as I make sure I'm not heavy handed with the moisturizers or oil. I wish you continued sucess with your sisterlocks. They are growing beautifully!

Thank you! And no shade received but if you been rocking with me since the beginning you kno that I’ve been using oil on my scalp damn near since the beginning I’m not with the rules imma do what’s best for my scalp and hair health regardless of what SL ™️ says 🤷🏾♀️ my scalp was like this as a loose natural it has good times and bad times of the year I just work through it thanks for your input 💕
