Welcome to Sisterlocks! It’s been 12-yrs for me 04/04/12, best decision I’ve ever made for my hair! My hair is thin and I too am tender headed in the crown of my head and some areas around my edges. Now, for me during my re tights my tender areas still hurt, but not unbearable.......I actually it my first layered hair cut in January! Enjoy the journey and welcome to Sisterlocks! ❤️

I TOTALLY know what you mean about the hurting….. I got my test locs put in and felt the hurting that you felt…. I let my consultant know that I am extremely tender headed before hand…… ❤❤❤ the pain did not last… it was initial but did go away…… ❤❤❤❤

It definitely did not last but the pain was real. I mentioned in the video that I’m tender headed yet some folks came for my loctitian in the comments. 3 years later and they are bra strap length now so there’s that. Thanks for watching and commenting

I love how your locks look on you. The style looks like it could be your signature. Sort of like how Meg Ryan’s hair style is her signature. You say your hair is thin, but on camera it doesn’t show that. I only have 420 locks that are very tiny which says mine is extremely thin. Welcome to the journey. I love your personality and energy.

Yes a 360 sprayer. It’s fabulous. I had to have it. I have two. One with distilled water and one with rose water.

Watching this video because my head still hurts and it's been 3 days posy install. The installation was super painful and I have thick, full 4c hair. All my research didn't mention the pain. I'm really hoping retightning doesn't hurt this much

Not necessarily that ppl lied it just that just because it took 30 for your head doesn’t mean that it would have taking 30 hr for everybody head . Such as me it only took me a total of 16 hr period

Agreed It really all depends on the skill level/experience of your consultant, and the length and density of your hair. Pain is also an individual experience...I never had any, but I don't consider myself to be "tenderheaded".

I love your video and how you explained how your journey start was for you! I'm supposed to have a consultation in about 2 weeks and I'm super excited. I've been reading/watching videos and learning a lot about sisterlocks. One thing I liked about sisterlocks is how it seems you can style it in anyway (once it grows out if its short) which I can't do with my short fro and that it's a natural hair style. I've been trying to figure out what to do with my hair these past few years since I got the big chop a few months before the pandemic to get rid of my damaged hair from getting relaxers and stuff.

Thanks for watching and yes there is a ton of versatility even when your Locs are short. What I really love about it is get up and go. During my natural days I would try to do wash and gos and it typically turned into an oh no 🤣🤣🤣it really has been a great decision for me and it’s one less thing to worry about.

It’s definitely a personal and financial decision. If my hair was that long I think I would commit to saving an additional 100 per month for a sister lock fund for a set amount of time. Once I got to say 4 months with extra 400 saved I would go by whatever that pays for or whatever I was comfortable with for the extra length

@@TheRealKylaB EXACTLY! I'm about to loose my religion! Those same folks talking about "hurting" are going to be complaining once their hair falls out. Years ago I went to a salon for Micro Braids and it felt like she was ripping my scalp out...I complained, she needed a translator, but she continued braiding loosely for about 2-3 rows and started ripping my scalp out again! My phone rang, I answered purposely saying yes and oh no!!!. When I hung up the phone and yes I lied. I said "I have an emergency and need to leave"...I walked out to a lot of chatter in their native tongue. Why, people, why?!! Hurting=damage to your scalp and follicles. Repeated damage to those same areas(grid)...😭😭😭 Someone needs to do a video about all this "hurting"!

Portia Mckinney it ended up being 950 but I also tipped for her services so it ended up being close to 1100. Retire is priced hourly at 40 an hour and my first retie took 2 hours again I tipped so in total about 110
