I’ve heard of other women with sisterlocs getting wigs installed. Maybe you could try that? Get your sisterlocks trimmed and braided down, then buy a few wigs to see what you like? It could give you some time to decide if you want to keep them permanently or not

My loose natural hair got extremely long. 18-21 inches long. For that reason I got sisterlocked. I've been locked for 17mos. I would get the itch to do something drastic (coloring, new styles) and every single time I would I would be negatively impacted. So when I was tired I would just leave my hair completely alone because I knew I would feel differently afterwards. Sometimes we just crave a change and that's ok🫶🏿

I feel you, your hair looks lovely. For me am at a point where I want to lock it but am afraid of the beginning stages knowing how much I love my big hair. But again washing are becoming very long and stressful because most products seem to make my hair Matt together not sure where the problem is.

I know exactly how you feel! I had my sisterlocs for 13 yrs. I kept it cut shoulder length because it was heavy and hot. I also felt like my top was getting thin. I finally got to the point I just wanted something new. I thought about it for 4 months and then I decided to do the big chop and found out I had curls! 😂😂 So I’ve been short and natural for a year now. Loving it! So if the thoughts stays in your mind for a long period of time then maybe it’s time for a changes 😊

My sister has had her sisterlocks for 10 years and she gets her cut a few times a year when her hair grows beyond a certain point. She let her locks get to waist length, shortly after that she cut it and kept it at arm pit length. She doesn’t like her hair growing beyond that. I e had my sister locks for 5 years this November and mine are right below my bra strap I don’t think I want them to grow much longer than that.

Why don't you get a bob with pipecleaners or loc pedals. Both styles would give you a completely different look, and if you don't like it you won't be mad at yourself for cutting your locs
